Thank you Travel.

Aaron, before you go, would you please give a concise application of your points in the musical paradigm? No hostility is necessary.

I have already done that more than once in this thread.

I'm sorry you feel that way Aaron. I can't think of anyone I enjoy debating more than you.

Sigh - Aaron that verse about fruit producing trees - you sin - I sin - yet we are Christians that is evil fruit on good trees. (Well I'm assuming yer good)

Mother Theresa - there stands a chance she's in hell - since not all Catholics are believers - but she has done more good then you or I ever have even combined.

Music is not an independent entity whereby good and evil can spring forth.

I have read this entire thread and yet only Travelsong has listed a style of music that TS feels (without) Biblical support is Evil

List a verse - three verses that define or point out which is to be considered bad style(s)

I do not care if you say you have done so before - do it again or post a link

A hammer is not good or evil
Money is not good or evil
Music is not good or evil

It is the purpose to which it is put that makes it so - And I want verses mentioning EVIL music

Because I'm an old softie, I'll give in.

Music is a work, specifically communication. All works will be judged as good or evil.

There is none good but my Father in Heaven. Besides, that which is born of God cannot sin. The sins you commit spring from the old man, who is at enmity with God and cannot do good.

Music is not an independent entity whereby good and evil can spring forth.

Music is an event, a deed, a work. It is either good or evil.

Actually he has eminent biblical support. He evaluated the demeanor of a specific style based on God's standard of temperance, and judged it over the line. I would say I agree with him, naturally. But he did NOT call it evil or immoral because he has the idea that only the heart is a moral entity, and any event or object outside of man is amoral.

A hammer is not good or evil

Yes it is. It is good.

Money is not good or evil

Yes it is. It is good.

Music is not good or evil

It is the purpose to which it is put that makes it so

Music is not an object like hammers and riches. It is an event, an act of nonverbal communicaton and is either good or evil.

Now, really. This is my last post in this thread. [Thunderous applause erupts from Beaner and Co.]

Why, hello Aaron:

Thank you for acknowledging me once again. I really don't feel that I know you well enough for those little affectionate nicknames, but thanks for thinking of me. I must confess that it is quite difficult for me to take you seriously when you utter such sweet monikers in my direction.

Sorry to see that you won't be posting to this thread anymore. Alas, I will miss the laughs.

Have a great week,
BiR

Why, hello Aaron:

You will recall that you wrote in your last post:
Now, really. This is my last post in this thread.
How delightful that it wasn't really your last post. Again, I really don't think that I know you well enough for affectionate little nicknames, and I must confess that it is hard to take you seriously when you do this, but thanks once again for addressing me in this manner. I am flattered that I could draw you out to post once more.

I trust that you and your family are doing well.

Have a great week,
BiR
