Do you mean this?: 'Why are the moderators biased?'

[levity] They are biased, but moderately biased [/levity]

I've experinced in my 20 years of bulletin board usage
several times the mixed blessing of being an
administrator or moderator on a board. It is harder than
one might think. So i have nothing but admiration
of an administrator or moderator who manages to keep
their head above water.

why do you feel it so necessary to correct a persons spelling / grammar in their post?

Massdak to Ed:

Proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation manifest a certain degree of intelligence. Now, with these fellas who post on the board preaching "standards" while not understanding the difference between "their" and "there" give a poor testimony toward Christians -- a bunch of southern hicks. Pah-ting...

Of course, I'm joking. Oh wait... that's a sin, ain't it?

Is correcting a persons grammar/spelling any worse than preaching man's standards and charging fellow believers with sin if they do not comply?

It's "Pa-ching!" And you should have put a comma in two places in the above statement; one behind the word "punctuation", another behind "standards". Of course these commas may be looked at as optional since the statements are easily understood even by us Kontrie hycks way down heer in Goot ol' Dixie! :D

I was spittin' into a tin can. I think that makes a "ting" sound rather than a "ching" sound.

</font>[/QUOTE]My 21-year-old son described
this to me. Ever heard of "an air guitar"?
It is when you just finger as a guitar
and usually sing along. Anyway,
the "Pa-ching" is a precussion period.
(My son is a precusionist student, he
should know such stuff
)

The "Pa" is a strike on the snare drum,
the "Ching" on a small cimbal (not one
those 18-inches across one, the 5" diameter
cimbal). You know, the captial letter
at the start of a sentence is "Ta-da" as
done with a horn or trumpet; the
"Pa-ching" is a musical period at the end.

So Precepts got the sound right.
But PRecepts put it at the start of a sentence.
Grace1998 correctly placed the Pa-ching at
the end of a sentence. It it proven,
and i win Pa-ching

I already see the problem! It's not dress that is turning people away from God. It is the fact that you have a ministry and not God. You clearly admit that the ministry is yours. If you would give your ministry over to God, more people might get saved. Why would we look like the World, talk like the World, and act like the World to win more souls? We need more Godly standards! It's lying to a lost person to not dress Godly. You are telling them through your actions "it's okay to dress wrong because we do it too!" That lying.

Your whole idea of not comparing scripture to scripture is unscriptural. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:13,"...comparing spiritual things with spiritual." The problem is that you don't want other verses so you can misconstrue the Bible into saying something it's not saying. Also, are we so shallow as to think that God only cares about our heart? Hopefully not! God cares about ALL of you including your heart! If God didn't care about dress than why is it all through out the Bible. In Isaiah 47:2 the Bible makes very clear that uncovered hair equals nakedness. The problem is people just don't want to change. They want to blend in with the World instead of being separate like the Bible commands us to be.

Alright Bible Believers, Why is their foolish jesting here? The Bible teaches aganist this sin!!!!!

A rebuke isn't foolish jesting! Your arguements will not merit anything before God's eyes!

Hell is eternal. Hell is real. Hell has fire. Lazurus wanted WATER!!!! Why? Because he was in FIRE!!!!!! Hell is NOT, I repeat NOT just separation from God!!!!!

Why is it that every issue that has to do with the outward appearance is put on lock? Why is it every conservative christian has their posts edited and deleted? Why is it that any idea contrary to modern baptistic views is not allowed, ex: the headcovering, foolish jesting, ect. Why is it my Pastor was kicked out for doing nothing? Why is it that baptist never want to change their ways? Why is it that we claim the Bible is the final authority but we twist, construe, and ignore it when it has to do with us? Why are the moderators bias?

Could the Baptists be wrong? It's only the position of a pulpit! I think Baptists have the pulpit in the middle for very obvious reasons. Such as your voice carrys everywhere better!

Slavery is a prophecy of Genesis 9:24-27. God instituted slavery. Slavery will happen whether man tries to stop it or not because it is in the Bible.

How many women follow God's command in 1 Corinthians 11 and wear a head covering? Or do we take the modern Laodicea approach that it is hair and ignore two thousand years of people interpreting it as a veil?

Good works has NO part of salvation. You do, though, have to come to God with a repentive heart. After salvation, good works is what shows the lost World that you are a Christian. The Bible says," By their fruits you should know them". Like James 2:17 says, If you do not have works your faith is dead. If you do not live a holy, godly, separated life, why did you get saved in the first place?

That is not what the Bible says. In 1 Corinthians 11:16 the Bible says," But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God." But let's compare scripture to scripture! The Bible says that "where contention is there is every evil work". Titus 3:9 tells us to leave off contention. If there wasn't evil contention in the church in the first place than there would be no hair issue. All men would just obey the scripture and stop trying to justify their sin.

Something that is missing in a lot of churches today is the understanding of the spirit of the law. The Bible commands men to have short hair. Well, how short? To be on the safe side as short as you can get it!!! That way your safe. That would be following the spirit of the law besides the letter of the law.

Priests were Old Testament Jews. Christian men are clearly told to have short hair. That's just what the Bible says.

On the contrary, nobody will get saved without outward standards. Why? Because they'll see hyprocrites who believe in modesty but won't practice it! God cares about standards. That's why their in the Bible! You shouldn't compromise Godly standards for lost souls.
As sarge would say, " Gomer Pyle, your a genius!" But no matter what you say, HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT.
My hair is short( dont know if it is evangelically short) I dress modestly , and always dress nicely for church, but God help me to never judge another by whether their hair is as short or long as mine, or whether they dress the same as I for church. ;)

O.K., but He just might have to encourage you to poke both your eyeballs out cause you just judged whether their hair is shorter or longer and your dress as the same or not. By the way, what kind of church is it you go to that the men compare their dresses in?

Ed, "pa-ching!" is the sound of a cash register when one pulls down on the hand crank and the cash drawer opens, but Grace is right, when she dips her snuff and dislodges a brown savory wad into the spit-toon it does make a "pa-ting!" indicating a dead-ringer.

The "percussion" instrument you were trying to describe is called a "high-hat" cymbal consisting of two inverted against each other with a shaft run through and either held closed or slightly opend to fully opened depending upon the desired sound, but the "pa-ching" sound would also come from a tambourine either placed on top of the high-hat and struck, or placed in the hand and struck against any object.
De-dee-da-dee-dee-da-dee-dee-dee.

Hi donnA! I chose my former user name because 1998 was the year God broke this ol' stoney heart. Hence, saved by grace in 1998.

How are things going for you?

We must have the same light-hearted sense of humor. Sometimes my posts may seem like I'm being serious when in fact, I'm grinning like a dummy while I'm pecking the keyboard.

Hey Tom, I sort of wish we had a male/ female indication on our profiles because it's easy to get confused with user names. We have some ladies with guy sounding names too.
