I am always amazed that such a hatemonger as Ann Coulter gets the attention and admiration of righties. She is not conservative...she is just pure evil.

Hey MP, I trust that you and yours are doing well!

Ann Coulter doesn't matter. She has no relevance, no substance, no morals and no credibility. Some day, the right wing will realize this and kick her to the curb with the rest of the refuse. I have seen some claim that she is no different from Keith Olbermann, which is LAUGHABLE.

And let's not forget the statement she made in the article entitled Ann Coulter 2005, where she told us what she loved about wishing someone a Merry Christmas. Of course, as Ann Coulter is the source, it is a statement so vile, that I will not provide a link to what she said.

Looks like I hit a neocon nerve.

I wonder if there are any participants on this board who consider themselves to be neocons. If so, I wonder if they have ever read the works of Strauss, Kristol (either one) et al.

Regards, hope all is well,

TYeah, it is LAUGHABLE to compare the two, Coulter's marginally saner.

Ya can dish it out but you can't take it.

And you don't even know what a "neocon" is, except what Chomsky tells you he thinks one is. It's Joe Lieberman.

You are not even making sense.

What do you need clarification with?

"Neocon" is a term from the 1960's for a liberal who advocates an aggressive foreign policy.

If the country is so polarized, Magnetic Poles, then extremist speech will become even more extremist, even the parts you don't want to hear.

You know this coz you're a tolerant liberal!

Hey BiR, hoping all is well with you and yours as well.

In all seriousness, I do notice that the righties here pound on lefties incessantly, but let someone criticize one of their idols, and the twisting and howling and finger pointing goes into overdrive. This is part of the problem in the country today, as triple-seven pointed out...we are highly polarized.

This is sad and counterproductive.

You do need claification, don't you? I agree with your last post for the most part, except:

I do notice that the righties here pound on lefties incessantly, but let someone criticize one of their idols, and the twisting and howling and finger pointing goes into overdrive...

You have a perfect right to criticize her, but she's not an "idol", or a spokesperson, just like KO isn't for you.

And the rhetoric is just going to get worse, why would that stop?

I watch Bill O'Reilly and Hannity & Colmes on a fairly regular basis...about twice to three times a week.

When Ann Coulter is on, I turn the channel.

The "woman" is vindictive, ruthless, and just down right mean. She is also crude.

I really don't understand why people seem to like her so much.

I am by no means a PC cop, but there are just some things that should not be spoken about in certain manners. She seems to relish in upsetting people with her vitriolic speak.

Aside from what she talks about, the way in which she says it is also way too overbearing.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that most of the so-called "righties" here also do not care for her. I am definitely in that number.

It's a mystery to me too. I've voted mostly Republican for the last 24 years (voted for G.W. Bush three times, once as governor and twice as President) but the support of Coulter by the right wing just shows how much people on the extreme right revel in the politics of contempt -- the same thing that they (rightly) condemn the extreme left wingers of doing.

They aren't condemning extreme left wingers they're condemning ALL Democrats. This goes so far as having self-professed right wing Christians tell other professed Christians that they cannot be a Christian and a Democrat at the same time. This is most likely the way the Pharisees treated those not in their little sect. They were Christ's greatest enemies because of their hypocrisy.

Please show us where Keith says anything about anyone in the same manner as Ann Coulter. For example, where has Keith ever advocated fragging someone like Ann did? Perhaps you could show us where Keith made an analogy for the phrase "Merry Christmas" in such a vile manner as Ann did.

As you have claimed that she is "marginally saner," until you can demonstrate any proof, you really don't have much in terms of credibility......

Ya can dish it out but you can't take it.

Again, you haven't supplied any proof to contradict what I have written.

And you don't even know what a "neocon" is, except what Chomsky tells you he thinks one is. It's Joe Lieberman.

You really do love to display abject fatuity with every post to me, don't you? On more than one occasion I have participated in discussions about what exactly is a neoconservative. I would dare imagine that I know more about Neoconservatism than you, judging by this response. But, by all means, feel free to enlighten us on what exactly the neocons believe.

I can hardly wait to see your "Oh, yeah?" response. I wonder what website you will reference this time.......

Regards anyway,
BiR

I wasn't even talking to you.

I support Ann Coulter and Keith Olbermann's right to free speech, what else can I say?

Both of them, and they're not the only ones, go over the line often, that's what they do. Good for them.

Are you sure about that?

Exactly who used the word "LAUGHABLE" - in bold and in all caps?

If you were not talking to me, then to whom was this directed?

I support Ann Coulter and Keith Olbermann's right to free speech, what else can I say?

Well, for starters you could actually offer some sort of proof for your claims.......

Regards anyway - even if you weren't talking to me,

MP in the op you stated: "I am always amazed..." that makes you part of the topic.

Then you accuse another of hate speach. Again you are part of the topic. I wonder if Ann had said this would it have been considered hate speech:

Would these quailfy as hate speech ?

Threads get shut down often on this board. Some tough rehtoric gets used on both sides of the fence, both on this board and in American politics. If you want to take a moment to bash ann then its your right. Pointing out the rehtoric of other people as evil and hateful seems rather hypocriticle. I think we all could learn to tame the tongue on occasion.

As far as Ann's words go they seem to be a rather unintelligent attempt at sarcasm.

Don't listen to these jay birds. They are avowed leftists and full of hate speach. They take the wrong position (unbiblical) on nearly all issues. They are in favor of the destruction of the US if it will bring GWB down. And you have been here long enough to see that and I'm sure you have.

church mouse guy
It is clearly a hate crime to call someone a sodomite. A guy in Indianapolis got fired just for saying that he hated Ben Gay.

It may be a crime in some places but how can telling the truth be morally wrong? It isn't. It's just this new thought police mentality.

M.P., what's the stinkin' difference between her calling Edwards this, and you calling Limbaugh a pig ? Why is it allright for you and not her ? You both claim to be christians....

"...physician, heal thyself"

A-Pal, you have made so many insulting remarks about Matt Drudge's sexuality that to see you chiming strikes me as particularly hypocritical.

Coulter has every right to speak that everyone else has. Hyperbole sells, on the left & the right. When I see the libs bringing up Rhandi Rhodes to slam what she says, then I'll beleve what they say about balance & fairness.

That quote sounds just like Ann Coulter.

I've got to leave for church soon, but you do know why they're demanding this apology?:

Democratic Party boss Howard Dean demanded that Republican presidential candidates denounce conservative columnist Ann Coulter after she referred to Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards as a "faggot" during a speech Friday at a national conservative gathering.

Coulter, who was addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., said:

"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word "faggot," so I — so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards."

Members of the audience seemed startled, then many clapped, and she proceeded to open the floor to questions, reported EditorandPublisher.com

After her comments, Dean issued a press release expressing his outrage. Dean called Coulter’s remarks "hate-filled and bigoted."

“While Democrats and Republicans may disagree on the issues, we should all be able to agree that this kind of vile rhetoric is out of bounds. The American people want a serious, thoughtful debate of the issues,” the press release read.

There's hundereds of example of speech just as bad or worse on the left, take Bill Maher as an example:

In 2002, ABC made the decision to not renew Bill Maher's contract after he made some disgraceful comments on his program "Politically Incorrect" concerning America's military response to 9/11. After what transpired on "Real Time" Friday, the heads of HBO should be equally outraged, if not more.

As the discussion moved to the attempted assassination of Vice President Cheney last week, Maher asked his panel why it was necessary for the Huffington Post to remove comments by readers concerning their disappointment that the attempt failed. As the conversation ensued, Maher said one of the most disgraceful and irresponsible things uttered on a major television program since Bush was elected.

See, it's a just a joke when they do it.
