Liberals don't like it when an avowed conservative uses invective similar to theirs against them.

Kinda funny, really.

Actually, according to the conservatives, name calling is a sign that the one doing the name calling has run out of valid points and has nothing intelligent to offer in opposition.

I sure hope Ann doesn't stop doing this though. Those of you who like her, please encourage her to do more and more of this sort of thing. She's better at name calling than she is at anything else, and what more could a Democratic presidential candidate ask for, or benefit from, than a red faced, screeching Coulter in her truest form? That ought to be worth a million votes!

Edwards 1, Coulter 0

That show was just last Friday, there's not even a transcript up at Bill Maher's site.

Everyone I've seen says the same thing.

777, don't take what the talking heads of talk radio have to say as the pure truth afterall it is only their version of the truth they just have to exagerate it a bit to keep the audience interested

Talk radio didn't write the transcript, either - those are Bill Maher's exact words.

Oh 777,tsk..tsk
BILL MAHER: Thank you very much. How you doin’ today? Thank you. Aw, stop it. Thank you very much. You’re too kind. Please. Thank you. I… I know. I know. Thank you. Stop. Oh, please. I’m humbled. Thank you. I… [laughs] I know why you’re happy. Afghanistan reported a record opium crop. [laughter] I think that explains why Dick Cheney came back from his trip saying, “Hey! They greeted us with flowers.” [laughter] “And they blew my mind.” [laughter]

Have you heard about this, this week? The Taliban tried to blow up Dick Cheney. Don’t worry, he’s okay. [laughter] [audience reacts “aw”] [laughter] No, he was never in danger. At the time of the attack he was safely asleep in his coffin. [laughter] So… [applause] I’m joking. I just hope that this attempt on his life doesn’t turn him bitter, vicious and paranoid. Because that… [laughter]

Episode #503 March2,2007
BTW, that came from the Bill Maher's site

On Saturday, the website NewsBusters.org posted a story under the headline "Bill Maher Sorry the Assassination Attempt on Dick Cheney Failed."

There's just one problem: As a fair reading of the show's transcript makes clear, I never said those words. Still, over the weekend, dozens of websites, mostly right wing, picked up the story (with headline intact) thus proliferating the myth that comic Maher somehow advocates the whacking of our Veep.

Don't get me wrong: I've never joined the Dick Cheney Fan Club. But what I said Friday -- and what I believe -- is that the Vice President has presided over a bungled execution of a war in which thousands of our bravest continue to die. And I believe that were he not in power, our troops would likely come home sooner. But I don't wish him dead.

Ironically, I made my comments during a discussion about Free Speech, which is one of the chief reasons that I love my country.

And where did you get your info 777. Got a link?

Bill Maher says he didn't mean it. In HuffPo, he's qualifying his remarks since he thinks they were distorted and taken out of context. That's fine by me.

This is a video, and those were exactly what he said:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6zcP2W4XC3c

He never literally said "I'm sorry the assasination attempt on Cheney failed", he's only correcting a headline on blog of an accurate transcript.

Ann Coulter thrives, too, so it's more like:

Coulter: 1, publicity
Maher: 1, publicity
Edwards: + infinity

Again Bill Maher would have to be fully quoted to understand the context of his statement. You gave a short statement of what Bill 's statement was, that was not in line with the discussion on the program .

One slight difference to me though is it is Bill Maher's show. Anne Coulter was a guest of the GOP and should have known how inappropriate her comments would be construed. If someone referred to her as a transgender whore in a public forum the outcry would probably be just as bad.

Yes there is such a thing as freedom of speech...there is also such a thing as others having the freedom to call you on your hate speech and/or opinions. Just ask the Dixie Chicks. Yeah, the had the right to make their remarks about the POTUS, but the public also had the right to boycott their music.

Personally, I think Coulter's remark took a lot of heat off of Hillary. Her "southern accent' in Alabama was pretty offensive to me as a Southerner.

Hey M.P....you know that gin-swilling hound you have as an avatar ? Check out this conversation he had with Stewie....

Stewie: (Stewie and Brian kissing) I am so gay!
Brian: Yeah I'm a homo.
Army Guy: Any room for one more?
Stewie: Hell yeah!
(Brian smacks Stewie)

From Saving Private Brian

I missed that episode, but I love the show!

He doesn't need to apologize, he said nothing wrong! Oh course, I don't expect a [personal attack snipped] to understand.

She has been called a transgendered right on this thread, and ain't nobody crying. She's been called a whore in plenty of other threads, and nobody cried. Usually the people here that cry about Ann Coulter cry 'cuz sumpthin she said made them mad.

I guess nobody's gonna answer why it's OK for some to call names, but not others.

Case closed. The left is just as mean and nasty as anyone they focus their anger on. Name calling happens, and to complain about some, while engaging in it, well, that's just silly.

Please post the link where a liberal political commentator attended a Democratic fundraising event and called Anne Coulter" transgendered" or a "whore" or both and the the audience burst into applause. Thanks.

No, I won't.

She has been called transgendered, and a whore right here on a Christian message board, to much glee.

So, I'll try one more time, is it OK to call Rush a pig, and not OK to call Edwards a faggot ?

You won't because you can't find that link, now can you Brother Curtis? Please link where a Democrat politician at a political fundraiser has called Rush a pig and I'll denounce that also. Oh what, you're not going to do that either I guess.

Nice redirect but it is transparent.

I never said anything about a liberal commentator calling Ann anything, but a general attitude of hatred & negativity from Rhandi Rhodes. I never accused anybody of what you are saying, so I can't reference it. I'm talking about right here, by christians.

Second, the guy who started this thread has called Rush "Pig-boy". I await your denouncment. A-Pal has called Ann a whore several times. Again, I await your denouncement.
