I didn't see anyone here claiming sinless perfection or acting as judge. We have been discussing a particular incident and the fallacy of trying to defend this man's sin as being God honouring and the right of a corporation to fire an employee who break policy.
Then you obviously also didn't see the number of people here trying to act like they couldn't believe the vet would dare think it's okay to steal from someone else for a good cause.
I'm just saying that it's how we respond to folks...how we treat PEOPLE... that makes people not want to have anything to do with Christians or our brand of Christianity.
Anybody being truthful can read this thread and see the air of incredulousness being expressed by many that someone could possibly think it's better to steal from someone if it meets the need of someone else.
But that seems to be what goes on in the church. It's always "I can't believe they did that" or "how could they do that"?
We ignore that we've probably done the same thing ( and the HOLY SPIRIT will remind us either now or later) or are just as capable of doing the same thing.
When we're always so hardlined and firm about everything without exhibiting any compassion, grace or mercy, it can become very unattractive. And I know this isn't what the thread is about, but in this thread like so many is the underlying current that some of us just aren't very loving people.
REMEMBER THE CROSS.
