DACA must end, or we have another problem in years to follow!

I disagree in regards to President Trump, his administration, or the government in general. Our nation is not the church.

I agree with the last part, if provisions are not made for these people to become citizens (without deportation). We have a responsibility because we have allowed these people to remain in our country for decades. Some are being threatened to be deported to a country they never knew. There are too many Christians spreading hatred in the name of nationalism rather than the love in the name of Christ.

What exactly does this hatred look like?

No. My argument is that we have to stop expecting the world to act as if they are saved because Scripture teaches otherwise. Christ did not die for the kingdoms of this world but to usher in a new - and different - kingdom. Christians need to stop trying to solve Kingdom problems in worldly ways. The problem is not governments lacking Christian morals but Christians holding benign gospels.

Sorry but there is nothing wrong wit Christians fighting for Christian values, of which this country was founded on. Without them our current system of government falls apart.

You have misunderstood my point (it was exactly the opposite). Christians need to hold onto a gospel that "has feet".

My sister-in-law allowed an elderly man to go in front of her in the checkout line. After checking out he told her she needed to go back to Mexico (her father was a soldier stationed in Vietnam, and her mother is Vietnamese). When my nephew was 12 years old and playing in the yard a police officer who lived across the street cussed him out for being a Mexican leach on society.

It looks something like that.

True, Nations have never been Christian.

You are totally right on Christians holding benign beliefs and ignoring the teachings of Christ on how we are to treat each other.

Trump, will be violating everything Christ taught about how we are to treat others. Remember he says he is a Christian, and thus he should follow Christ's teachings in his life and decisions.

If Trump destroys DACA he will be violating everything scripture teaches about care for the alien and stranger, and not oppressing the widow and the orphan. Thus, those who support destroying DACA are doing the same. Read your Bible and see.

And remember the Last Judgment in Matthew ... what is said there?

Biblical verses on how we are to treat aliens ... note the Bible does not differentiate legal or illegal:

Ruth 2:10
Job 31:32
Matthew 25:35
Matthew 25:38
Matthew 25:44
Ephesians 3:1
1 Timothy 5:10
3 John 1:5
Deuteronomy 10:19
Leviticus 19:34
Leviticus 25:35
Hebrews 13:2
Deuteronomy 14:29
Deuteronomy 26:11
Leviticus 19:10
Leviticus 23:22
Deuteronomy 24:19-21
Deuteronomy 26:12-13

Several points wrong here. Firstly, nearly all of those verses deal with visitors, not illegals. They use a variance of the word "sojourn", which means "temporary stay". Second of all, many of them say that we shouldn't change the law for them. Meaning that if we DIDN'T deport illegals, we are going against the Bible, as we are changing the law for visitors if we allow them to stay.

Nowhere does the mention legal or illegal. Don't rationalize the Bible attempting to shove it into a preconceived pigeonhole. God will not fit pigeonholes of human making.

As legal or illegal is not mentioned your comment on deporting illegals is mute and void. As all people are included in scripture your comment in not scriptural.

Legal and illegal is a secular human concept.

Blessings.

Well, using Scripture here can be a two edged sword. It is just as easy to argue Scripture teaches immigrants should obey the laws of the land and be content even through hardship.

So these people are known Christians and you know for certain that this was done in the name of "nationalism"? You use two anecdotes which is fine but give no clear explanation for the "too many Christians". Who are these "too many Christians"? Quite frankly I am tired of "nationalism" being tied to racism. Its in fact a lie. It is propaganda coming from the open borders left wing knuckleheads. Unfortunately some conservatives are buying into it. It is time to open the eyes.

Yes, I do know that one of these is a Christian insofar as we can know the heart of another. I believe one Christian acting out of hate is one too many. How many do you think acceptable?

In regards to "nationalism", I agree depending on who is setting the criteria. I tolerate brethren who seem to hate our nation and I expect the same considerations for the love I have for my country. I'm not sure why you are addressing this tangent to me (unless you confuse patriotism with blind allegiance, which I doubt).

You said Christians were spreading hate in the name of nationalism. I have yet to see it in reality. I have seen the demonization of "Make America Great" or any view that places Americans first as being nazi type nationalism. its evil and I will not tolerate it.

I am surprised you have not been exposed to this reality. It is, unfortunately, common place where I live.

I agree that the liberal left and the DNC are evil, intolerant, dishonest, and to a large extent blind to their own character. I just think Christians don't need to "fight fire with fire", but often it seems the only difference is the agenda and not the character.

DACA was illegally implemented by a rogue president.

That has now been corrected.

Exactly, which is why I am exposing your pigeonholing of God into your ideology.

Again, exactly. We are told in the verses you posted to not alter our laws to apply to us and not to sojourners and vice versa. So, to NOT deport illegals we are going against the very Bible verses that you quoted.

Legal and illegal is a secular human concept.
Interesting idea, since government is one of the institutions ordained by God himself.

Then you need to move! As you know, I live in the far, far south of Texas, right on the Rio Grande. My son-in-law is Chinese. There are virtually no Asians in this part of the country. He is retired Air Force (24 years) who now works for the State of Texas as a Corrections Officer. He works at the juvenile facility with high school aged offenders, mostly hispanic.

One of the supervisors saw him at the end of the hall surrounded by teen aged boys and came charging out into the hall to help protect his officer. When he got there he realized the boys had never met an Asian man and were curious about him and his culture and were asking him questions and having a great time talking to him and learning about the place in China his parents came from and which he had visited a couple of time to see family still in China. They wanted him to say things in Chinese, and to talk about his favorite Chinese food, and how to use chopsticks!

My grandsons experience the same thing in Youth Group. The other kids are fascinated by these Chinese kids in the far south of Texas (they take after their dad, and look nothing like their mom, our daughter. In fact my daughter says she knows they are hers because she was there when they were born, but she can't figure out how all 3 of them can be exact clones of their dad with, apparently, no input from mom at all!).

Oddly enough I have found that the greater percentage of minorities in a community the less likely you are to encounter racism. Go figure. :)

Nah....I like it here. :Biggrin

There are strong opinions about immigration around here, but for the most part I agree with those opinions. Some just get carried away with their politics until it becomes something ungodly. I wouldn't necessarily call this racism - if either knew those members of my family were American it wouldn't have been an issue.

I grew up in the South (South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee). The area I witnessed the most racism was in Maryland and Washington D.C.

I don't believe your views will hold when we are all at the final judgment as described in Matthew. The whole judgment is based on how we treat each other. There is nothing about legal or illegal. If you remember one of the judgments will be on how we treated the stranger.

Now you can try your defense at that time and see how much weight it holds.

Blessings.

Of God, yes I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). How insightful of you to see that!?

Other then that, there is nothing I fear! Especially when it comes to your criticism! I live to please but one person in life, and that is God! So long as He is pleased with me, I am just fine!

Have a blessed and wonderful week.
It's not a criticism Paul, it's an observation and frankly it conserns me. I'm sensing anxiety and ... well I am not trying to upset you so I will shut up.
