One has NO EXCUSE for sin. One's license to sin has been REVOKED.
False argument.
Not one person has endorsed a license to sin, and furthermore, you err grievously in your thinking by implying any one
ever had a license to sin.
Simply absurd reasoning (and forgive me for calling it that (that is, reason, I maintain it is absurd)).
Now if you got a better explanation of
1 Corinthians 10. I want to hear it.
And this is typical of the L.O.S.T.: you jump from proof-text to proof-text when your reasoning is examined.
First Corinthians does not nullify a great many teachings in the New Testament which make it clear believers are going to sin after salvation. That we will not be completely free from sin until our bodies are redeemed.
This...
1 Corinthians 10:12-13
King James Version (KJV)
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
...does not teach that believers are sinless.
Your doctrine was rejected in the First Century, it is rejected today. Perhaps this is why you try to call John's teachings as well as other Inspired Writers into question. You have to dismiss Biblical teachings so your own are not exposed by the light of Scripture.
Maybe explain how when God forgives you its a phony act, still have si
Could you quote me on that?
You are confusing positional sanctification with progressive sanctification. The former is our position in regards to God in the eternal perspective, the second is our condition from a temporal perspective.
Here is an example of a born again believer sinning:
Galatians 2:11-13
King James Version (KJV)
11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.
13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.
Or do you think hypocrisy is not sin?
So if you're looking to Peter as an example of Super-Saint, you are going to have to explain why this man, a great man of God despite his failures and sin, could sin...
...but you do not.
We got a Lamb who takes away sin of the world. You got one that takes what? nothing?
First...who is this "we" you speak of?
You aren't going to find anyone that is going to agree with your Doctrine here, I am pretty sure of that.
You aren't going to see the Catholic Church guilty of this error either, because their views on sin are often targeted. Complaints about Confession, for example.
Secondly, you reveal a very shallow understanding of the Cross of Christ and Scripture in general. Christ did not remove sin from the world, that is quite evident to most of us.
You need to understand that the Work of the Cross deals with the penalty for sin. Old Testament sacrifice performed a similar function, but it wasn't complete. It had to be repeated because it did not take away sins. When they offered up those sacrifices, it was basically in the temporal plane that remission of sins were granted. Whereas Christ's offering removed the need for sacrifice in the life of the believer, because remission of sins was made complete.
That doesn't mean that sin is completely removed from our existence. We still remain in the flesh, which is unredeemed.
You want to understand the control your flesh has, my friend...try fasting. Your flesh will soon reveal it's impact in your life.
We got a Lamb who takes away sin of the world. You got one that takes what? nothing?
While it is true that Christ does remove sin from our lives, this is a never-ending process of gradual progression, one which relies heavily on the believer's understanding of exactly what God declares sin in our lives.
Think back to when you were saved, and now: have things been made aware to you and revealed as sin that previously you did not consider sin?
Well guess what, that is going to continue happening the rest of your life.
But you have hand-cuffed yourself in place with your unorthodox view of Scripture, which makes me think your growth is going to be a very, very...slow process.
Here it is again:
1 John 1:8-10
King James Version (KJV)
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Now, answer the question already posed to you: are you going to publicly state, "I Utilyan...no longer sin."
That is what you are saying in subtle terms, my friend, might as well go ahead and boldly proclaim your belief.
God bless.
