Tell me about the Jewish population in Germany and how well they spoke Hebrew. Many around Jerusalm did look down on Jews from Nazareth and the Galilean area. Jerusalem was their religious hub. But the common language of the Jews in the 1st century was Arabic.
He spoke to them often.Had Jesus chosen the religious leaders as His Disciples and limited His ministry to the "upper class" Jews then you may have a point.
Who isn’t.You say that you cannot imagine the Jews using any language (when given the chance) than Hebrew.
Are you aware that the New Testament - even books written specifically to a Jewish audience - were not written in Hebrew?
I will vote this one the top answer.Having visited Miami, FL ... I suspect Jesus spoke the language of his immediate audience. Aramaic in Samaria, Hebrew in synagogue and Jerusalem, perhaps Greek in the Decapolis and Latin in the Courts. Jesus primary goal was to reach his audience.
His "mother tongue" was Aramiac, also knew Hebrew, Greek, maybe LatinI am unsure what difference it would make if somebody could give a definitive answer to the question of whether Jesus spoke in Hebrew or in Aramaic (or both). How would it affect us as Christians?
Maybe some Egyptian ... he lived there as a child for a time and children pick up language quickly. His "mother tongue" was Aramiac, also knew Hebrew, Greek, maybe Latin
I do not need German records. The Jews I knew of when in Germany spoke German. The Jews I know in the US speak English.Tell me about the Jewish population in Germany and how well they spoke Hebrew.
Go ahead and look in the local German records. I don’t think you will find an accurate description.
They taught and discussed Scripture in the Synagogues. Some used Hebrew Scripture while others used Greek Scriptures. Ironically, Jesus did not quite from any known Hebrew Scriptures.I don’t think you are familiar with Jewish customs as well as you think. What do you think they taught in the synagogues? It is not much different today.
I’d like to know where this information comes from. His "mother tongue" was Aramiac, also knew Hebrew, Greek, maybe Latin

I haven’t been able to find Mary’s podcast. But I’m not a premium subscriber either.
I’ve never heard her speak.
