Discrimination

I'm not judging others, but when you speak against the very things Christ preached, your own words condemn you.. .

YOU are for discriminating groups of people just because you decide they are not worthy of your love.. or as someone else said, when we help others we deserve appreciation.. hog wash.. go read the sermon on the mount.. Jesus said the Gentiles has this attitude.. why even they help others to get something in return...

Let's quit complaining and condemning people, and like Mexdef said, let your light shine.. NOW theres a novel idea.. LOVE EM LIKE JESUS!

I never said that I deserve appreciation, it is our country that they are indebted to. They were rescued from a dangerous civil war, but instead of being grateful to our government for that, they abuse the generosity our government has bestowed upon them, and demand even more handouts.

I'm going to be blunt- then that's the problem, you love your country more than you love Jesus.

Speaking the truth is not a lack of love. You might want to practice what you preach and move into a Somalia neighborhood.

If God called me there I would gladly go. As it is he has called me to a Hispanic neighborhood and there's not much difference. But I'm lighting a candle.

The Old Testament uses the term "holiness" and the NT employs "saint". As God's revelation in the OT advanced, the application of the term "holy" to people moved from consecration to a holy God to an ethical quality of life, and this is its main NT connotation....The saints, the holy people of God. "sinners saved by grace." This holy attribute is imparted to the human soul in spiritual regeneration. Exemplified in Jesus Christ, holiness (sainthood) is more than mere sinlessness. For example, judgment of sin is the consequence of God's holiness.

In part, we refer to man as saved; being saved, and ultimately saved. It is here he achieves sinless perfection...in Glory...not in the flesh.

Cheers,

Jim

That is an absurd comment.

And again, if it was me, a white American Christian that abused the system I would be labeled a bum, freeloader and a deadbeat. But because it is black Muslims, I am the bad guy for expecting them to have a little gratitude towards the country that rescued them.

And you have no right to make any comment about how much I love Jesus. That comment was mean and prejudiced, and discriminating towards me, especially since you don't know what you are talking about

You have no idea. But you are very wrong. In fact, you just lied about me.

This board is supposed to be made up of Christians?

Wow.. I thought I stumbled onto the Pharisees board while reading this thread..

So much hate for your fellow man.. what would Christ say about your posts people?

Do you really hate those that are not like you so much that you would generalize groups people to the point that you uphold your own prejudices...

I'm ashamed to be a part of people like most in this thread.. this is not Kingdom principles..... shame on you all!

Well said, Tim. Quite a den of vipers and haters. Why would anyone start a thread in favor of discriminating against their fellow man? Hearts are in need of serious introspection. I thought Christ died for everyone, that he loves all. Unlike some who claim his name.

Hey, if these people are Cretans I want to know about it. To call a spade a spade, is nothing wrong with it.

Prove me wrong then- what exactly have you done to introduce those Muslim people to Jesus?

Excuses excuses and in the name of God no less.

No excuses, just truth.

Tell me, have you ever surrendered all and gone to a foreign country to do missionary work? I have- and I would do it again in a heartbeat if God asked me to. And I pray He does- I miss it, terribly.

But for now my mission field is here in the USA with people that don't necessarily love our country. But THAT isn't my concern- my concern is trying to help them to love Jesus, not to get them to love the USA.

Many times we are uncomfortable being around people who are different than we are.

Watch what happens in some churches when it grows and the seats are filled with people who came from a particular non-Christian religion.

I know a man whose church became filled with new believers who came from Mormonism. The church grew from about 75 to almost 600 in six years and he was asked to leave by the "old guard." A family I know who came from a cult and became believers had a hard time finding a church because they were not welcome. Today they are leaders in a denomination to reach people who are involved in where they came from. They are busy answering over 2000 emails each year.

They are hard core Islam, they loathe the gospel, and Christians.

This community has had to change almost anything that refers to Christianity to a neutral theme. I know this is going on everywhere, but it is extreme here. The Muslims here object to anything about Christmas in the schools, the decorations the town used to put up, and most especially nativity scenes.

One strange thing though, I am seeing several young American girls in town that now wear the muslim clothing, having married a muslim. I haven't seen an American man with a muslim woman yet though. I just find it interesting that they loathe Christians and even Americans in general, but now they are marrying them.

But yes, i wish more were open to hearing the gospel.

John

Well, this one's an easy fix, if only our government would cooperate. If they don't like the scenery here, give'em a plane trip back to Somolia. That way, both sides are happy.

That same argument has been used with the African Americans. How about if we send you back to the country of your ancestors?

I lived in a city where many were wanting to live but once they got there they did not want anyone else to come and "destroy" their city.

No need as he blended right in and became a responsible contributor to the American way of life.

That is the problem with some of the leaders of churches today. They blend in.

Unfortunately, being sinners, we are unable to discriminate in a righteous manner as Jesus did.

Telling the truth is one thing, telling the truth in love is another.

Instead of cursing the darkness, how about lighting a candle? It seems that the mission field has come to you and someone should step forward in Christian love and make a difference. It will be difficult and likely painful but it does no good to complain and build walls.

Once again, Mexdeaf, you cut to the chase and sum it up.

Also, you get a star by your name for saying that our job is to get them to love Jesus, not America. We have to keep our minds on what our job really is.

Titus 1:11-12 (KJV)
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Was Paul being discriminatory?

We should be able to tell the truth, regardless of who is put in a bad light. To acknowledge facts is not wrong. If I say that black neighborhoods tend to have more crime than white neighborhoods, am I discriminating? I don't think so. However, if I state that blacks are inferior or undeserving of the Gospel, that is a problem indeed!

The churches job is to preach the Gospel to all people, regardless of anything else!

Except, of course, when it comes to 'God's Chosen People'. They are beyond reproach. You can criticize and point out anything you want to about Libya, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia, etc., etc., but mention the Jews and you automatically are pegged with 'that awful name'. This is the main reason given about why our representatives in Congress are silent concerning the disproportionate nfluence that they exert there.

Incidentally, the Jews are exactly who Paul is referring to in Phil 3:2.

They want their hate speech laws enacted for a reason. And I'm convinced it's coming.

I didn't say anything about the nation of Israel, yet you bring it up consistently. It appears like you are the one most guilty of discrimination, and that against God's chosen people. Or it could be that you are upset that your partial-preterism has been rejected by most Christians who hold to dispensational theology, like myself.

Whatever the problem is, you really need to get a grip on your hatred for those who reject partial-preterism and hold to dispensationalism.
