Do ghosts exist?

What do you think about haunted houses? In the USA there are a few haunted houses where people see strange things. Or do you think that certain areas or houses can be cursed and this means that ghosts are attached to an object and they will stay there? Something like territorial ghosts?
But it cannot be that people die and then still remain on earth as ghosts, this is against the bible. Are these ghosts simply demons which play games?

I don't know. I suspect "demonic," but I don't know.

Whe you die you go to the grave and Ecclesiastes says the dead "know not anything" so it cannot be actual ghosts.

They are demons posing as dead relatives and sometimes even as dead apostles and Jesus. Often they give advice. My former Landlord told me her dead husband would come at the end of her bed at night and counsel her.

The implications are frightening.

Nope, I've never heard of a legitimate ghost. Ask yourself what possible reason would a demon have with a house or garage etc. to haunt. With the only exception being Casper.:)

Good point.

I wonder if the "specters" or whatever that these folks see are demonic spirits that follow them around?

As I said, I dunno. To be honest, it really hasn't ever much interested me either way. I think we've enough to do with the living...

Nope, I have heard these stories, even from christians which counseled women which had this happen to them. There are incubus (male) and succubus. Succubus are supposed to be female, but I have never heard of female demons. This is a bit strange.

Absent from the body is present with the Lord. No, sorry, we dont linger here. There are no ghosts. There is a much better chance of life in the universe away from here, for those who like that type of stuff.

I don't think about them at all.

In the USA there are a few haunted houses where people see strange things. Or do you think that certain areas or houses can be cursed and this means that ghosts are attached to an object and they will stay there? Something like territorial ghosts?
No, I believe people are and can be troubled and possessed by evil spirits.

But it cannot be that people die and then still remain on earth as ghosts, this is against the bible.
True.

Are these ghosts simply demons which play games?
Yes, deadly games.

There are familiar spirits;

When Abel was killed by Cain his blood cried from the ground.

I drove by a former church in Tuscaloosa that is suppssely haunted. me My wife and I heard a hidious sound. Nobody was around . The former church building had been a plantation and then a Church. Could it be that a formere slaves blood cired from the ground?

needlessly to say I have not driven back to this sight.

Good question. If there are no ghosts but only demons then why should demons be "bound" to houses where people were killed or slaughtered such as this plantation or other haunted houses?

And since dead people cannot communicate with us anymore does this mean that if a relative dies and then you dream about this person and in this dream the person says something to you then this was either just a dream or it was a demonic deception?
Because my grandmother said that after my grandfather died she dreamed that she saw him and he told her that it's good to believe in God. I don't know what to think about this.

The dead sleep in the grave till the second coming of Christ

"So man lieth down, and riseth not, till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep." Job. 14:12.
"If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will wait, till my change come." Job 14:14.
"If I wait, the grave is mine house; I have made my bed in the darkness." Job 17:13.

What do the dead know of those he has left behind?
"His sons come to honor, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them." Job 14:21.
"Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun." Ecc. 9:6.

What becomes of man's thoughts at death?
"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish." Ps. 146:4.

"For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten." Eccl. 9:5.
