Some people get more chances than others. I THANK GOD every day that some people kept after me til I came to Jesus, & didn't give up on me & move on….
You should be thanking God, instead, for not giving up on you.

peace to you

Absolutely. But when people come to Him through faith in Jesus, they will find that it was all of grace; that God, in His mercy, has chosen them before the foundation of the world, and drawn them to Himself with lovingkindness (Jeremiah 31:3).
Yes, God had chosen the final destinations of all the souls He'd made Since then, some people have chosen heaven & lived accordingly in their mortal lives.

Of course it is meant for all

it demonstrates that as believers we are to never forget that the focus of worship is Jesus
Right. And it demonstrates that we are to "open the door" & let Jesus in. We must CHOOSE to do that.

I do. Did you not read my post where I said I thank Jesus every day for continuing to knock on my "door' for awhile til I "got up & opened it to let Him in"?

Not withstanding the mid-application of that particular passage, I stand corrected.

peace to you

Most have to come to faith in order to be elect.
No
You are completely turned around, the wrong way. In fact, your statement is an open attempt to reject election.
What ypu you are stating is that humans save themselves, which causes God to say that he wants that human. How wrong that is should not even need explaining. Yet, that is what you are proclaiming in your twisted comment.

But God gave people free will to become elect or not.
Man's will is biased against God from the start:

Romans 1:18-32
Romans 3:10-18
John 3:19-20
Psalms 10:1-11
Psalms 14
Psalms 53.
Ephesians 4:17-19.

Election is God choosing based on nothing we have ever done ( Romans 8:28-30, Romans 9:6-24, Ephesians 1:3-14, Ephesians 2:1-10, 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14, Acts of the Apostles 2:37, Acts of the Apostles 13:48, Psalms 65:4, Titus 3:4-7, 2 Timothy 1:9 )...
For nothing we could ever do would have been worthy enough to get us out of our own predicament.

Salvation is by grace alone, my friend;
Grace through election.

The Bible says that our belief on Christ was a product of God's work in us as His elect...
Again, that it was given to us, as His people, to believe on Him ( Philippians 1:29 ).

I wish you well as always.
May He bless you with the wisdom that comes from above ( James 3:17-18 ), roby, and with many good and perfect gifts.

So, you believe all of the "whoevers" in the Scriptures I posted are wrong?

Yes, salvation is by grace, which is unmerited favor.

And yes, it was given to us to choose to believe & be saved.

This is horrible. This shows no understanding. When a person turns from truth this kind of made up religious thoughts are the sad result.
This poster is going backwards.
This is just one more thing you're wrong on, out of the many you've been wrong on in this board.

I believe your comment is completely backwards.

You wrote:

Notice, it is not just me. You have been addressed by a number of people.

Not one hint of such in that verse.
LOL, no hint? Context shows I am correct. Let's look at the whole.

Revelation 3:14-22

Write this letter to the angel of the church in Laodicea. This is the message from the one who is the Amen—the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s new creation: “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference. “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.”

How you can say there is "no hint" that Revelation 3:20 is written to lukewarm Christians is either blatant ignorance or pure laziness on your part.

roby, you need to pay attention to the folks here who are correcting you with scripture. At present you have an understanding of God's saving grace that is not taught within the scope of the Bible.
