I think the "why" is obvious . . . to seem cool or adult, to experience the buzz or to escape reality.I would like to see "and why" added to the question.
Some will say they enjoy the taste, but that's an acquired taste. No one, unless he was born with numb tastebuds or no gag reflex, likes the taste of this rot right off.
So, the "and why" should be expanded to, "why did you start?".
The reasoning that infects your posts on this board leads one to conclude some kind of injury to, or defect in, the core of your central nervous system that apparently affects the processing of some of the information from your tastebuds.
I don't think your experience is a valid sample.

Or a burger & a beer! In my case, Guinness draught. :love2:
Or a non-Pizza Hut margherita and basil pizza with a decent Chianti. Or a beef tenderloin with an '09 Rhone. Or...
A Baptist pastor's waist line is directly proportional to their criticism of those who drink alcohol, as is the speed of a gossip's mouth.
I do not drink. I really do not like the taste of alcohol.
Salzer said, "No, I don't drink and I don't have any confidence in people that does. There is no way anyone can drink in moderation and not become addicted after so many drinks of moderation."
When I was young I probably would have agreed with you. However, after my experiences living in Prague I have to respectfully disagree. I know quite a number of Baptist in Europe who drink moderately, say a glass of wine with a meal or a beer. They have done this most of their lives. I must say that most Europeans have a very different attitude toward alcohol than Americans. They see a glass of wine or beer simply as a drink [like we look at water] to go with the meal.
At the Baptist seminary in Prague they use wine at the Lord's Supper. They call it Baptist Wine as it comes from the vineyards that were restored by German Baptists in Mikulov in Moravia, now southeastern Czech Republic. The German Baptists had the reputation of being excellent vineyard workers and were invited to come and restore the vineyards in the CR after those vineyards had been destroyed in a was.
..... Graves & snails eek!?!
Since I wasn't the only one, you have proven Error'n suits you much better.
He's not the only one Aaron. My husband truly enjoys the taste of beer and wine. The plum wine we tried the other night is something I really enjoyed, but that would be because it tasted a lot like apple juice. so I'm better off just buying apple juice cause it's cheaper, and I can drink more than one glass if I want. He drank his glass because he wasn't about to be wasteful, but it was WAY to sweet for his taste buds. He prefers a good malbec when it comes to wine.
There's more than one homosexual, too. Doesn't mean it's not an acquired taste.
Trying to win an argument at all cost?
Straight forward question. Do you drink? If so, do you do it in moderation, and do how do you reckon it with the Word?
I am putting a poll on this so those who want to remain anonymous, can do just that!
You obviously have not been around many people who drink. Most of my friends are social drinkers and have been for several decades. However, I can only point to two in my circle who have been adversly affected by their drinking. So I can tell you from much personal experience that use of alcohol can lead to addiction but it almost never does. No, I don't drink and I don't have any confidence in people that does. There is no way anyone can drink in moderation and not become addicted after so many drinks of moderation. Can a man take fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned ? Can one go upon hot coals and his feet not be burned ? Prov 6:27-28
