I didn't compare alcohol consumption with sodomy. The point is, folks may very well enjoy the taste, but it is acquired.Alcohol consumption is hardly on par with homosexual behaviour. Trying to win an argument at all cost?

Homosexuality is about the only unacceptable vice left in modern Christianity, so I used it, knowing that most (CBT, MP and the other resident Marxists excepted) wouldn't try to hallow an activity to which many innocents have a natural aversion simply because some have been conditioned to find a genuine pleasure therein.
So we go back to why folks here started drinking beer in the first place. It wasn't because of the lack of pure drinking water and the need of a manner to store a source of hydration for a long period of time without it spoiling.
And it isn't because they liked the taste.
Honey isn't an acquired taste. The things you listed much less of an acquired taste than say, snails. If one is dying of thirst, beer and wine will quench. And if one is famished, even snails start looking tasty. Shoot, your neighbor starts looking tasty.
I have now read EVERY post in this thread and frankly...it leaves me both sad and appalled at the state of things in this microcosm of what we call "Christendom" here on the Baptist Board. I'm not gonna make a big long comment about the use of alcohol here. I'm just going to say that the REAL heart of the matter about this (drinking) and ANYTHING ELSE that a Believer in Christ may (or should/should NOT) do should simply be....does what I am doing bring HONOR and GLORY to our God and Saviour Jesus Christ? That is the "acid test" for the things which we allow or pursue in our lives after being truly born again. The WEAKER saints are the ones that don't take this into account. We true saints need to "take the high road"....ALWAYS!
1Cor.10:31-32 says "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Give none offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:"
:tear:
Bro.Greg:saint:
I will drink to that! Seriously, the high road is to take care of the widows & orphins...do you do that weepie?
At least PART of the "high road" would be that "we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world" as we are instructed to do in Titus 2:12b.
Do you seriously expect me or anyone else of good character to believe that the Holy Spirit of our God would prompt you or anyone else to say what you just said (I'll drink to that?) to me?....on a public forum?...REALLY? Did you pray about that comment before you hit "submit"? Sad....very sad. I would also consider (if I was you) where that money (all you have is God's...remember?) that you are spending to buy the booze is actually going. I wouldn't want to put one thin dime into any of their coffers.
On a separate note, yes, my wife and I have tried to do some things to help widows and orphans ( and other less fortunate folks) as we were led on occasion by the Lord to do and I would cheerfully and willingly do so anytime God so led us.
Bro.Greg:saint:
You are the same person that said mentally ill people are being punished by God. If you would bother to look it up, it is public record in Tennessee.
A statement only possible from a teetotaler. There is no comparison between the nauseatingly sickeningly sweet taste of say.....a coke vs. a single-malt scotch or a finely crafted beer. I (for instance) somewhat despise the syrup which you call sodas and their 5,000% sugar content vs. many dryer alcoholic beverages.
Because....some of them.....quench thirst better. In the summer-time, a light Perroni or a Mojito takes the edge of thirst off in a way no sweet-tea can...especially if you chase it with a cool glass of water afterwards. TRUST ME....your carbonated Root-Beer or Ginger ale doesn't.
"Tastes Good" to you (I'll bet my ranch) means:
"Tastes preposterously sweet"....Not everyone is refreshed by that.
On behalf of my husband HoS :  He's never understood why I would prefer a Mt. Dew to a cold Stella Artois or Newcastle.

'Alberta, Alberta, where'd you sleep last night?..'
To answer the OP:
I rarely but occasionally consume alcohol. It does not consume me.
