Linda you are right about this... the only way to win the lost is to preach the Gospel..

But when people ignore, or shun others that are not like them away, how can they hear the Gospel?

How can they hear without a preacher..
May favorite, well one of my favorite verses in the Bible is Mark 12:37b

"....And the common people heard him gladly"

Why? why did they hear him... he saw them with compassionate eyes... as sheep without a shepard.

That is what SBC's And my sermon was about..
He sent me a DVD of it, and it was wonderful.

It made me think...
Jesus reached out to others.. we should too.
We can all agree with that can't we?

hang on, I didn't mean it like that
I'm definitely not trying to be mean here. There were lots of good things about them, they were giving and dedicated and faithful but they still missed the point. I intended that as an illustration. I think a lot of these comments have had good intentions behind them but some people are still missing it.

"letting go" put on pause here:
We are letting go of the negative..
For over 14 pages, this thread was one of praising God, and then legalists come along and run good cyber worship.

I am not going to argue on this thread anymore about the merits of using CCM with those of you that don't think it is right to use it.

The argument is fruitless.
so I will ignore anything that doesn't praise God on this thread...and if it turns into a bash CCM thread, I'll just keep posting positve stuff...

I encourage all fellow worshipers to only post positive things in this thread.

Ok, "letting go" back on again.
(just though I'd explain what "letting go" meant in case some of you don't understand.)

...Although, I must take issue with the thought that there were lots of good things about the Pharisees, and Jesus never judged them as giving and dedicated and faithful.

Praise God from whom all blessing flow...
Praise Him all creatures here below...
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts.
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost....

AAAAAAAMMMMMMMMEEEEEEENNNNNN!

it is a shame when people who stand on the truth in God's Word are branded as legalists.

Of course the other extreme could be noticed. Those that have no problem with bringing the world into the church could be considered as liberalists.

And the pastors of every church that lets the music directors and youth team bring in that worldly music that appeals to the fleshly nature will have to answer to God for doing thus.

Oh, they won't lose their salvation, but they will lose a reward that is only set up for leaders of the flock. see 1 Peter 5:1 - 5

tinytim,

While Im not a legalist........no matter what some people around here think.........I honestly thought that was what the thread was about now. Because when I came and read it tonight thats what it looked like, and it was pointed to as a thread about what God does with CCM. I can let it go, because Im not going to change my mind on the issue, and I really don't feel the need to defend my stance on it....but I also know Im most likely not going to change anyone else's mind either.

I apologize if I came across as trying to argue....that was not my intent. I was only trying to put out a great song that is NOT CCM, which I frankly think does a better job of doing what was being discussed.....getting the complacent church to wake up and look around at the hurting people surrounding them.

We look at people's appearance and we get an impression about them. It might even be the impression they WANT us to have. But people are hurting, people are trying to escape from all sorts of things....abuse, rejection, responsibility,.......

We've got to have a heart for people which allows us to love them without expecting anything in return from them. That includes the whole "Look at what I've done for them, they could at least live right now" attitude. Ya know?

Awesome
God has done so much in our family in the past year. We are about to visit my sisters church for the 3rd baptism in our family in the past 4 months! My Daughter made her profession of fatih and started a chain reaction. Other kids wanted to know what her decision meant and the Holy Spirit used that. 3 other kids have accepted Jesus. Someone else in my family has been delivered from alcholism after a 20+ year struggle. She has been sober for about 7 months and is back in Church.

MAcitruth, that is a wonderful testimony. God is so faithful to us, even when we are not.

Thank you SBC for allowing God to use you to confirm a situation in my life...Thank you Mark Hall for writing wonderful Christian songs..
Thank you everyone that knew about my situation and for praying for me..

I can't wait to begin ministering at the new church.. they have so much potential...It is going to be wonderful.

Although I am going to miss my youth, and they are going to miss me, I hope they realize that what I am doing is God's will... maybe the most important lesson I have taught them... Always follow God.

Tomorrow will be my last Sunday.. I am sure I will cry alot.

Bapmom, I liked your song... You are right..
we (Christians as a whole), me included, are so busy, we don't see others. It is sad.

The love of Christ knows no boundaries, but we do!

Christ came to tear down walls that separate us from Him..

look at the Samaritan woman and all the walls that kept her separated from God...

She was a samaritan, a woman, a divorcee, living with a man...etc, but Christ came to her...

And notice that he didn't even tell her to marry the man she was living with before he offered her living water... some Christians would have today...

"Go home and get married, and when you are no longer living in sin, you can be saved."

No he cleaned her up from the inside out..
Some Christians are still being Cleaned.
That is Christian Growth..

Now how did I go there?

Well, the last few posts just prove my point. Call me cold, hard and mean. That's fine. Really. I took the gloves off long ago. I don't feel the need to bury my judgments in the subtexts of my posts.

For example, Tim said:

I am not going to argue on this thread anymore about the merits of using CCM with those of you that don't think it is right to use it.

The argument is fruitless.
so I will ignore anything that doesn't praise God on this thread...and if it turns into a bash CCM thread...
Subtext: those who disagree with me do not praise God. They're not worth my time to converse with. (Though there was nothing in Standing's or bapmom's posts that was not courteous.)

And this one by SBC:

Let it go, some will never understand. But that is ok, we know what God is able to do and has done around us.
Subtext: Those who are arguing with are without understanding, but we aren't.

And, of course, the constant accusations of legalism and Pharisaism can't be ignored.

Your words are intended to be just as biting and deprecating as they're accused of being, it's just that it feels good for you to bite those who confront you on the ideas you express here. But when you're bitten, then it somehow isn't deserved. That's just plain, old-time hypocrisy. Now who's being more like the Pharisees?

I got involved in this thread only when you all got personal with those who have the right idea about ministry.
