Just imagine what would happen if his people prayed.. why they would act like they were the body..His extravagant love would shine through all of us because it would be in us. You know we got to love them like Jesus. It's not just an American Dream, but it is the command of our LOrd. OH well Here I go again...

I wonder how my lifesong will sound when it is all said and done..
I hope when I stand before Him I can praise Him with the dance.

Hold on.....

Does anybody hear her? That one passing the church.. have you invited her to Christ? Why not?
Amen! Preach it!

Life Of Praise by CC

I will love You, Lord always
Not just for the things You've done for me
And I will praise You all my days
Not just for the change You've made in me
I'll praise you for You are holy, Lord
And I'll lift my hands, but You are worthy of so much more

Chorus:
For You are awesome, God of the Nations,
Lion of Judah, Rock of the Ages, Alpha, Omega
You're worthy of all praise
More that these hands I'll raise
I'll live a life of praise

I will serve You Lord, always for You are my strength
When I am weak
I will never be afraid for You are my rock and You protect me
But I'll praise You for You are holy, Lord
And I'll lift my hands, but You are worthy of so much more...

tinytim,

May the Lord reward you for staying up until 230 in the morning by giving you rest for your eyes and sleep for your body during the time you are needed in service tomorrow.

"Lifesong" by CC

Empty hands held high
Such small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight

May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You

Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign Your name to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You

Lord I give my life
A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be Your hands and feet

So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Let my lifesong sing to You

"Voice of Truth" by CC

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
on to the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand

But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

Chorus:
But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes
to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone

Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name
And he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy you'll never win!"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
On top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

Chorus:
But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me)
I will choose to listen and believe-

I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

I will listen and believe
I will listen and believe the Voice of truth
I will listen and believe
Cause Jesus you are the voice of truth
And I will listen to you, you are-

Says nothing about the Blood, The death, The burial, The ressurection, There are just words, you can have that sort of Hog pen relationship if you so choose, but just cause your feeling like you on that mountain, that same God is God in the valley. Lets all go hug a tree

I am amazed and deeply saddened by the response of some to the praise of others.

Standing, if Tim was up late it was because a lot was on his heart and he will be fine today! I have had nights like that, especially before Barry and I speak at an important place or occasion. I am totally wound up and it takes time to settle down. I have found in my own life that it is not the next day which takes its toll, but the day after. And I'm sure Tim will have plenty of time to sleep tonight and tomorrow and God bless him!

Mr. Correa, praise needn't be evangelical. Expressing one's love, commitment, desire for more of the Lord is not telling others about the story of Jesus -- it is a personal expression TO Jesus. Every moment of one's life should be Christ-centered, but not every moment is evangelistic.

When my husband left me in 1991, and I had no money and six children to raise (well, Scott was 17 and headed to college, so make that five...), one of the biggest comforts of my life was to put on some songs like that while I was in the kitchen, or making beds, or whatever. Bouncy songs, which reassured me and gave me energy at the same time. "I'm looking for the city with the true foundation..." (when I finally learned to sign that for my deaf friends I was SO happy!). Carmen's "No way I am not ashamed..."

They ministered to me, and I was grateful for them. They renewed pieces of me that felt like they were falling apart. I knew the Gospel story. I needed a little bounce and reassurance, especially that first year.

Please, folks, don't think everyone has to be like you to love the Lord and express it! I am SO glad God judges the heart!

About that woman passing by. No, don't invite her to church. Not yet. Invite her to lunch. Get to know her. Walk alongside. That comes first.

Thank you for your post, Helen. I was thinking the same thing, but would not have worded it as eloquently!

What I saw was someone totally getting caught up in the excitement of praising the Lord. Not being familiar with CC, and seeing the words to the music she was sharing, I went to a website that had clips of their music just so I could hear the joy behind the words of praise.

Praise to the Father re-energizes and renews the soul. And our praise and worship of the Father can come from music as well as scripture.

Thank you, Rachel, for sharing your evening of praise with us.

Thank you ladies. I will not be ashamed for JOY I have for my Lord and Savior and expressing my love for HIM. I know I am nothing without God. I live to please and worship Him. \o/

"In Me" by CC

If you ask me to leap
Out of my boat on the crashing waves
If You ask me to go
Preach to the lost world that Jesus saves

I’ll go, but I cannot go alone
Cause I know I’m nothing on my own
But the power of Christ in me makes me strong
Makes me strong

Cause when I’m weak, You make me strong
When I’m blind, You shine Your light on me
Cause I’ll never get by living on my own ability
How refreshing to know You don’t need me
So I’ll stand on Your truth, and I’ll fight with Your strength
Until You bring the victory, by the power of Christ in me

If You ask me to run
And carry Your light into foreign land
If You ask me to fight
Deliver Your people from satan’s hand

To reach out with Your hands
To learn through Your eyes
To love with the love of a savior
To feel with Your heart
And to think with Your mind
I’d give my last breath for Your glory

Thank you everyone that knew about my situation and for praying for me..

I can't wait to begin ministering at the new church.. they have so much potential...It is going to be wonderful.

Although I am going to miss my youth, and they are going to miss me, I hope they realize that what I am doing is God's will... maybe the most important lesson I have taught them... Always follow God.

Tomorrow will be my last Sunday.. I am sure I will cry alot.
I am just now reading this thread. (Don't say anything -- I'm slow!)

I noticed the time and date on this post & realized you were talking about TODAY! Tim, I'm praying right now. I know how hard today has been. I also know the joy God will bring you in a new place -- His new place!

Can't do that, standing. All those admonitions against the works of the flesh are lacking in uplift, vision and breadth of mind. We need goateed rock stars to get our praise engines going!

I'm sorry about your loss, and your problems; but it seems to me that you got a hold of them in your faith .God bless you. I never thought of my self as an evangelist although Paul told Timothy to "do the work of an Evangelist" I still beleive for the most part we should be likeminded, I personally want to be like the 1st century church, and as far away from the religious crowd or false religious crowd as I can and Im sure you do to. But the way the world would have it "this to shall pass". "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away". Praise the Lord, but watch out for the PTL

William,

I think we all desire this as well. I know in my conversations with SFIC and many others that I am around likeminded people. I don’t take my debates with him or others personally because I think they are trying their best to serve God. The differences come and go, but I know that SBC, Helen, Tiny, Joshua Rhodes, Tater, SFIC, Rachel, Rhet. and many many others all have a fervent desire to serve God; I and many others just may not worship exactly the same way you (or SFIC, etc.) do. This is ok and you certainly have the right to worship God as you wish. God bless and may we all keep God in the forefront as we go about our daily lives.

Oh yeah and CONGRATS Tiny. I am extremely happy for you.

William,
I admire your zeal for correct doctrine.
But you seem to be making an unwarranted assumption.

Which is that this kind of music is the only kind people on this thread listen to.
I have the same Casting Crowns cd and enjoy it very much. The songs speak of truth, but not exhaustively. No song in the Baptist hymnal that I am aware of speaks exhaustively of truth.

The last cd I listened to was of the Psalter. And we are admonished to speak to each other with Psalms, etc. Yet other than Messianic and prophetic Psalms, they do not speak directly of Christ. Should I not listen to Psalm 100 because it does not speak of the blood of Christ?
I think I should listen to Psalm 100. It speaks truth although not exhaustively.
(Don't misunderstand my point, please. I am not trying to equate Scripture with mere human words. I am trying to make the point that not EVERY expression of truth must be an exhaustive expression of truth to be valid.)

Off the top of my head, I am going through the words of "Holy, Holy, Holy". Great hymn, but I don't think it explicitly talks about the blood of Christ or the resurrection. I plan to keep on singing it.

I agree for the most part "SBC, Helen, Tiny, Joshua Rhodes, Tater, SFIC, Rachel, Rhet. and many many others all have a fervent desire to serve God;" we all may be sincere in what we think but lets be honest and; I'm not trying to burst anyones Bubble, but we could be sincerely wrong as well. I love some contemporary Music but I cannot trust my flesh , my flesh warreth against the spirit. with all do respect to the song Rachel was singing, we shold listen to the Spirit of Truth which is the Holy Spirit. I'm sort of new at this "Baptist Board Discussion" web site, but I try to listen to peoples opinion. It really does 't matter what all of you beleive. or I, the Scripture is above us all. Thanx for your comment and God bless.
