(Re)New(ed) Creation: The End of the Story

This is an amazing article, where Michael W. Goheen asks,
"Salvation: Escape from Creation to Heaven or Restoration of Creation on New Earth?"

(Any time you see someone referencing Anthony Hoekema’, go for it).

"Our view of the future matters because it shapes our lives today."

This is the question: "Is going to heaven when you die the goal of God’s redemptive work?

If so, it colors all the elements of Biblical hope.

But consider this Question: Or is the goal of the story of God’s redeeming work a Renewed Creation?

"Then the Return of Christ, the Restoration of God’s Kingdom, the Resurrection, and Judgment take on a different meaning.


"I believe that the Bible supports the latter:

God will renew the whole creation."

"There is shalom and harmony.

The relationship between God and humankind is healed.

God’s presence is closer than ever before.

The relationship between human beings is healed.

Love reigns.

Human life in all its aspects is purified.

The non-human creation shares in this liberation of God’s people.

And so God’s people live with this hope of healed and renewed creation.

Their prayer until that day is ‘Come, Lord Jesus’ (Revelation 22:20)."

A few things I know are true:

3) The restored creation, the New Heaven and Earth will take place after the Judgement, Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21.

Ok. We do not agree. There are specifics which need to be dealt with separately. For example, I understand only Matthew 24:2 has to do with 70AD. What Jesus answers following the discieples questions, "Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" is only to answer the second question, "What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" Not the 70AD.

Ok. We do not agree. There are specifics which need to be dealt with separately. For example, I understand only Matthew 24:2 has to do with 70AD. The ONE way that the three questions that the Disciples asked Jesus may be structured to fit like a hand in a glove is shown in the previous posts.

It is O.K. to know that Prophecy, Parables and Answers to questions, by Jesus, can be Divinely Interpreted, where every word is reconciled and no other false teaching can be invented.

Daniel 7 & 9 should be able to be Taught as they are written, just like Revelation 20.

The structure for interpreting Revelation is Given with "The Seven Spirits" and The Seven churches. The Seven Visions and ONE Message, with seven different areas of emphasis.

Each of The seven Visions of Revelation alludes to The FIRST ADVENT of JESUS and they each include a depiction of THE SECOND COMING of JESUS.

Therefore, to read and develope thoughts based on a chronological interpretation, by beginning with chapter 1 and thinking that chapter 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,& 22 proceed one after the other is noviceville.

These Biblically presented hermeneutical patterns must be followed and when so, The Bible is possible to Interpret.

There are not seven different Holy Spirits and the letters to the churches were all written to all of those seven churches, and in principle, to all following churches of Jesus.

This forum has an outreach.

This interpretation of Matthew 24 is the only ONE Taught by The Bible.

Study it.

Learn it.

Pass it on.

If you are called.

Each of The seven Visions of Revelation COVERS THE EXACT SAME PERIOD of TIME, from Jesus' First Advent to His Second Coming and each has verses which allude to The FIRST ADVENT of JESUS and they each include a depiction of THE SECOND COMING of JESUS.

Each of the seven visions covers the same exact period of time, with each giving its own perspective, in gradually deeper detail and REVELATION.
