So you're saying that lost individuals should pray and ask God to forgive their sins and save them.

The premise God will not hear the prayers of the Lost, because they have "regard" for iniquity in their heart is false. Here the claim is because humanity is fallen, depraved, corrupted, God does not hear them when they seek God.

It is certainly true if your mind harbors ungodly thoughts and attributes, such as the prayer of the Pharisee in Luke 18:9-14, God will not act favorably in response to that prayer. But God knew the content of that prayer, and the attitude that undergirded it.

"Being a just, honorable person and a person who fears God" (like Cornelius, Acts Of The Apostles 10:34-35) means that God has already wrought within that person APART from hearing the gospel, or, 'coming to the light'. John 3:8 happens all the time.

20 for every one who is doing wicked things hateth the light, and doth not come unto the light, that his works may not be detected;
21 but he who is doing the truth doth come to the light, that his works may be manifested, that in God they are having been wrought.` Jn 3

How much 'teaching' did it take to finally get Timothy and his flock 'saved'?

So you are saying that a person is saved before they even believe or have even heard of Christ Jesus. The bible disagrees with you on that.

So you're saying that once a person hears the gospel their saved.
So how do you explain those that hear the gospel and reject it or those that hear it and do not trust in Christ at the time but latter, sometimes years latter, will turn to Christ in faith.

You seem to think man has nothing to do with his own salvation. The bible would disagree with that view as the verses you quoted shows.

Man has to respond to the invitation of the gospel message before they are saved by the grace of God.

One cannot be born again by "praying a prayer".
Contrary to popular belief, He has not left the decision to save a people for Himself up to imperfect men.

The onus is on God, not men, to save anyone and grant them repentance unto life.

But even with your adjustment you still have people saved before they believe or are you saying that the Holy Spirit regenerates them after they hear and believe the gospel as we see in
Ephesians 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise

The bible is clear that God only saves those that accept Christ Jesus as their savior. God's desire is for all to be saved:

1Ti 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
1Ti 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

But God has also set the condition for salvation, faith in His son.

@Dave G what you have just posted is Calvinist philosophy, not the biblical truth.

If we went by your post then we would have universalism. You say the onus is on God so God would logically do as He desires
