How much of Finney's Lectures in Systematic Theology have you read? What foundational tenets of the faith does he deny? Citations, please!
Yes, I've read it.
No, I'm not going to go find a copy and research it to find citations for you.

I'll make it easy for those who don't want to interact with actual statements from non-Calvinist thinkers. Go here and bring up something and then refute it here on the BB:

Thank youJust don't let it fall off.
My previous question still stands: have I correctly identified your line of reasoning? Not in the same way He did Adam and Eve.
What do you think Jesus meant when He called the Pharisees, "son's of Satan"?

"For God so loved the WORLD..." (John 3:16)
Greek "kosmos", is used in this passage for the "whole human race"
Even the "champion" of so-called "Calvinism", says:
" That whosoever believeth on him may not perish. It is a remarkable commendation of faith, that it frees us from everlasting destruction. For he intended expressly to state that, though we appear to have been born to death, undoubted deliverance is offered to us by the faith of Christ; and, therefore, that we ought not to fear death, which otherwise hangs over us. And he has employed the universal term whosoever, both to invite all indiscriminately to partake of life, and to cut off every excuse from unbelievers. Such is also the import of the term World, which he formerly used; for though nothing will be found in the world that is worthy of the favor of God, yet he shows himself to be reconciled to the whole world, when he invites all men without exception to the faith of Christ, which is nothing else than an entrance into life."
Note, Calvin does not use the term that "Calvinist" like, "all men without distinction", but "EXCEPTION", which can only mean EVERY HUMAN being EVER! Sadly Calvinists do not like what their own hero says here, and try to fudge or explain it away!
I'm not certain what your point is. Reformed folks have John 3:16 in our Bibles, too.
Look at the OP about God's love for ALL people. It is a known fact that most "Reformed" deny that God loves any of the "non-elect"!
Does God love people He condemns to Hell?
YES! They CHOOSE to reject the Gospel and send themselves to hell!
Why do you think that Jesus would have even bothered tell Judas, "it would have been far better if you were not born"? And weep over Jerusalem? because He knows what awaits their final destiny! He is moved by His GREAT Love and Compassion, which eludes most who follow "Calvinism"!
Apparently, your idea of love is quite different from mine.
then yours must be different from God's! Explain John 3:16?
If all men are guilty and deserving Hell, yet God shows mercy to some by saving them, in Christ, He remains both loving and just. However, if God only provides a way yet fails to save anyone, He is neither.
"deserving hell" is a injustice against God. Because hell is actively sin in separation of God.If all men are guilty and deserving Hell, yet God shows mercy to some by saving them, in Christ, He remains both loving and just. Its like saying you deserve to spit in God's face.
My friend, how you guys do NOT understand the Gospel! The Bible says God LOVES THE WORLD, and yet He, according to Calvinism, is only interested in SOME of HIS world whom He loves and wants to show them mercy. But the greater MAJORITY of HIS creation, though He LOVES. leaves damned!!! What a PERVERSION of the Gospel Message!
