This is from your article:

Fauci’s crimes put anything done by Dr. Mengele to shame.

Really? This is the hill you want to defend? An item of "journalism" that suggests Dr. Fauci is worse than Josef Mengele?

If you are going to quote crank websites, at least make it believable.
Have you done a deep dive into Nazi Germany and what brought about people like Mengele and why they were permitted to experiment on human beings…what was their prime motivation and then try to discover Fauci’s prime motivation. See what his wife does for a living, where they live, etc.

That’s why this particular board needs (must) separate politics from matters involving Christian content. Maybe study Christ more and Washington less.
I agree. People are interested in politics, so it's a popular forum. But I wish it was not here because it is probably the most unChristian forum on the board.

If you have a case to make against Dr. Fauci, by all means make it.

I will say that the Fauci family lives in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in New Jersey and next to NYC where all the beautiful people are.

We don’t have this problem in the North. We recognize politics for what it is, a scummy ball of crap that you sell your soul to participate in. My uncle, a Pennsylvania politician, forbade me from entering into it. So if the NE puts an emphasis on Christ (which most do not cause that’s too damn hard) they don’t because they can’t sully it with political tangling.

I didn't know New Jersey had affluent neighborhoods. :Biggrin
Look up Milburn, Short Hills, Rumson, Far Hills, Livingston for example. Hell we are suburb to New York City and Filthadelphia! These places grind out money …and people. You could get very comfortable living there, all you need is money.

So what do you think produces Fauci’s prominence? Was it earned by sweat and self denial and superior intelligence or was it by superior villainy? What do you think elevated this humble government employee to being the health spokesman to the nation (including Presidents, Congress, etc) and being paid more than Presidents?

I have a quote that rings loudly as a warning that I hope and pray that citizens take to heart.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

"most unChristian forum on the board"

Isn't that like saying people on this forum are not Christians when they are arguing?

Or perhaps the behavior is gnat nice?

Only the bad ones though, right?

Or, we all know what good behavior is, and it's not on the Political forums.

No, Christians are Christians even when they don't act like it. I've insulted people before. That did not make me less Christian, but it made me disobedient.

The political forum is probably the only forum where Christians post lies to support their opinions.

On other forums - like theology - members have opinions, sometimes they mischaracterize other views, sometimes avoid interacting with views....but most if the time they are honest with what they post and they try to use reputable sources.

This is not true with politics. With politics Christians behave very dishonestly. They post whatever might make their opinion look better. When the sources are shown to be corrupt they ignore the fact and move on (never addressing for others that the "evidence" was false).

What do you get when you mix politics with Christianity? Politics.

Well thanks Jon, for being honest about your slips of behavior, I am right there with you, as you know.

This rule, "They post whatever might make their opinion look better." also applies to the theological threads whose participants "... try to use reputable sources."

Posting "... whatever might make their opinion look better" by using sources on the web or by like thinking people is characteristic of this entire forum.

"The political forum is probably the only forum where Christians post lies to support their opinions."

Do you really think they post "lies" intentionally, or it's lies from your point of view.

The whole forum follows this principle, not just the political forums.

I can see prejudice and twisting in all the forum sections.

Oh, sorry, that's just me, a gnatty clean machine.

So by posting on the political forums has there been a positive effect?

It can apply to any topic or thread.

But yes, with political threads I do believe it is intentional (although perhaps remaining intentionally ignorant).

I'll use a recent example (it's all that comes to mind). A Christian posted that the Covid shot enhances Delta infectivity. The evidence was an article citing a CDC report stating that vaccinated people are at an increased risk of becoming seriously ill with covid. BUT if you actually read the the source cited it is the CDC stating that early vaccinated people have an increased risk of serious vovid illness compared to more recent vaccinations and therefore booster vaccinations may be needed.

You and I may disagree on the vaccination but I doubt either of us would condone the misinformation in that thread.

BUT even after the source was revealed we had a Christian step in and commend the integrity of the OP for posting such a great article.

We typically do not see such stark dishonesty in other threads.

I do not believe the political forum has had any positive effect for the participants. I do think it could, in some cases, have a positive effect for visitors reading the threads insofar as both sides are argued and in the case of lies the misinformation exposed.

But I believe it has a negative effect as others can view Christians behaving in an unChristlike manner.
