Dave, I don't believe the private interps & man-made additions to the meanings of Scriptures. You're forgetting jesus' great Commission:No, my friend, it appears that you do not heed the word of God...
You appear, at least to me, to pick and choose His words based on whether or not you like them.
From where I'm sitting, it's easy to like passages such as John 3:16 and 1 John 2:2...but not so easy to like passages such as Psalms 5:5, Psalms 10:3, and Psalms 11:5.
But I have hope that someday His words will get through to you.
That is why I encourage you to carefully consider all of them, even the ones that you don't seem to like...
Passages such as John 6:37-47, John 6:64-65, John 8:43-47, Philippians 1:29, 2 Thessalonians 2:13 and Acts of the Apostles 13:48 which all tell us who believes and why.
May He bless you with much in your studies,
and may you look to Him by faith, for everything in this life...
Especially for the answers to how and why you have believed on Him and His Son.![]()
"Born again" means being saved. And one must call on the Lord's name to be saved. And that means being born again (in the spirit) by calling on Jesus by name, asking Him to save one.Correct. Yet, you don't see how your statement limits the whoever to only those who are born again and believe.
You cannot birth yourself spiritually and you cannot believe unless you are spiritually born again.
Neither do I.Dave, I don't believe the private interps & man-made additions to the meanings of Scriptures.
You're forgetting why He made that commission...You're forgetting jesus' great Commission:
Amen. Most of those people to whom He sent them had never heard of Him.
I agree, my friend. So their work also consisted of telling them who God is.
Well-said, roby, and I quite agree...They were given the ability to do certain miracles to prove God has power, & these apostles weren't just jive talkers, as were common even then.
"How to be saved"?Once proof of God's power was established, they proceeded to tell them of Jesus & how to be saved.

Yes, we do call upon Him to save us out of many troubles and trials...calling on Jesus' name & asking Him to save them.

That is why they are UNBELIEVERS.Romans 10:13 "For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Obviously, if one doesn't believe, one wouldn't call on the name of the Lord.
My conversion to believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior is best discribed as Easy Believism. To deny this simple truth is to deny the truth of the genuine gospel, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
You have an amazing talent for non sequitur.I'm not sure anyone could believe such nonsense. I suspose when a Calvinist accuses me of being an easy believer it the same as saying I'm not saved, because I'm not converted to Calvinism.

God does the birthing. You cannot be "saved" unless God does it. The calling on the name of the Lord is the effect of the cause, just as a baby cannot make himself, but after birth can call out, "momma" or "dadda.""Born again" means being saved. And one must call on the Lord's name to be saved. And that means being born again (in the spirit) by calling on Jesus by name, asking Him to save one.
Respectfully, Sir, if you're trying to push calvinism off on me, IT WON'T WORK. God didn't create anyone just to go to hell without any chance of salvation. I remind you of 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.Neither do I.
You're forgetting why He made that commission...
Have you not read these?
" As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd." ( John 10:15-16 ).
" And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. " ( John 11:52 ).
" That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; [even] in him:" ( Ephesians 1:10 )
Amen.
" Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;" ( John 17:20 ).
I agree, my friend.
God will birth Spiritually anyone who sincerely asks Him.God does the birthing. You cannot be "saved" unless God does it. The calling on the name of the Lord is the effect of the cause, just as a baby cannot make himself, but after birth can call out, "momma" or "dadda."
Give God the credit He deserves. Unless God births you, you cannot believe. John 3 makes this clear.
Sorry I was spring boarding off of your post, it wasn't directed at you Dave... I know what you believe!... Brother Glen![]()
And how did you ask God to be physically birthed? Was it possible for you to do so? Did you will it from your momma's egg or your daddy's sperm before they were united in conception?God will birth Spiritually anyone who sincerely asks Him.
That doesnt make sense neither is it biblically. Thats like saying a physical baby sincerely asked to be born. Not happening.God will birth Spiritually anyone who sincerely asks Him.
...you're too old to be doing any spring boarding anyway...

So does this mean all gentiles are saved? Because Acts 28:28 says Gentiles will hear the gospel. That doesnt make sense neither is it biblically. Thats like saying a physical baby sincerely asked to be born. Not happening.
Are you that incapacitated of reason, MB?So does this mean all gentiles are saved? Because Acts 28:28 says Gentiles will hear the gospel.
Act 28:28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

Horse Feathers! And how did you ask God to be physically birthed? Was it possible for you to do so? Did you will it from your momma's egg or your daddy's sperm before they were united in conception?
No, you had no capacity to will such a thing.
So it is spiritually. Romans 3 tells you that you don't have that capacity. Ephesians 2 tells you that you don't have that capacity. John 3 tells you that you do not have that capacity.
God must first do the work of new birth, making you alive, causing you to be born again...before you have the capacity to call him Father.
You are giving the power of salvation to yourself and attempting to take it away from God. What you are teaching is dishonorable toward God.
