So I just brought this back to you and asked if those folks that teach what I pro offered to you would be considered heretic and teaching a different Jesus. It stands to reason that if a Baptist believes this about Pentacostals and accepts them as Christian then you should accept Charismatics as Christians with false teachings and believe they are saved and not teaching another Jesus.
I am not "hopped up" about anything. I posted information here that included info on false teachers in the Word Faith camp.

And you are failing, once again, to make the distinction between Word Faith and charismatics who are not Word Faith. They are not the same group. I have tried, over and over, to point that out to you.

This thread has had nothing to do with what Baptists think about Pentecostals or tongues, and everything to do with the Word Faith heresies. You can't seem to separate them.

So start a thread on speaking in tongues or charismatic beliefs and see what the Baptists think.

One thing is clear. The prominent wprd-faith people are preaching a false Christ and a false gospel.

Unfortunately when you speak to a word-faith type they come back with something like "don't speak ill of the lord's annointed". Very Sad!

The thing that gets me---is when the dudes preach a false Christ and a false gospel---and the faithful listeners all believe they are on the right track spiritually---how come those listeners can't "see" what's happening???

Any of these:
1. Because they want to believe it.
2. Because of the charisma and/or force of personality of the teacher (notice they all have strong personalities)
3. Because the teachers are experts at scripture twisting
4. Becuase they don't know good principles of Bible interpretation and/or they are not reading the Word for themselves

Good book: _Scripture Twisting_ by James Sire.

Some Charismatics and faith word teachers may teach false things but their salvation is not the question. After all some baptist teach heresy and false doctrine such as tongues are of the devil and the Gifts are not for today so they also would be considered heretic and preaching another Jesus if we judged everything on what folks teach. I do not believe this for I believe that all that confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and repent of their sins are saved even if they do have some wrong headed teachings no matter Charismatic, Baptist or whatever they wish to call themselves.

blackbird: The same reason you believe your false teaching is right on track spiritually. They are ignorant of the truth and not willing to change their views because of some teaching they have received from their teachers instead of reading the Word for themselves..

James Robison is a Southern Baptist. Of course, he is now regarded as a heretic by some here, no doubt.

These men teach that Jesus discarded His divine powers and walked earth as a man ONLY. (This is the false kenosis theory that came out of Lutheranism in the 19th century. They do not teach that His blood atoned. They teach He took upon Himself the sin nature of Satan. This caused His spirit to die. They openly embrace the exemplary view of the atonement, not the substitutionary view of the atonement. (Denying substitutionary atonements means one does not believe Jesus died for your sins). They teach that sin is not the problem, loss of dominion over the earth is the problem. They teach Jesus is a born-again man, very similar to Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnesses, because this blends Adoptionism and Socinianism. They do not trust in Christ alone for salvation. Those that teach this are teaching a false gospel and a false Christ. They deny key core doctrines that go well beyond ordinary Pentecostalism, Arminianism, Calvinism, even Catholicism. They believe in a blended form of Gnosticim, Kenosis, and Adoptionism, and especially Socinianism, all of which were condemned as heresies by the early Church. Some are Oneness Pentecostals, thus they believe in modalism. I believe that some may be Christians in error. However, if they persist in their teachings and do not repent, that would qualify them for 1 John 2:19 status, IMO.

Fat Eagle says, "The same reason you believe your false teaching is right on track spiritually."

Fat Eagle??? Exactly which teachings are you accusing me of---that are false??? When have you heard me teaching false doctrine??

Can you name one doctrine that you have personally heard me teach---anywhere---that is false???
