Then you're denying facts and science. According to the CDC approximately 123 Americans die by suicide everyday,

We will soon have 3,000 people dying a day ...give me beak with your "denying the facts" with that weak comparison!

Source?

For the rest of you, facts and logic will not avail you in your interactions with @Benjamin . His mind is made up.
@Aaron obviously you haven't a clue of the facts. Google the daily deaths from COVID19 in the USA. I watch the numbers everyday and they are increasing daily and we're currently over 2,400 deaths yesterday. ...but no avail in giving you facts your mind is made up in ignorance.

3000 a day in the US? When will this happen? Please be specific about your prediction. You compared this to US deaths by suicide per day, so I'm assuming you din't pull a fast on here with the numbers.

Worldwide there are about 800,000 suicides deaths per year, and that's apart from a global economic depression. The Chinese virus isn't going to come close to this. Please predict what will happen to that number if the world economy takes a dive. Make your prediction a matter of record.

And yes, Chinese flu is peaking and killing a lot of people. When did I deny this? I supported Trump's travel ban and I support social distancing. I've stated that this virus is much more infectious than normal flu. The death rate is low like most flu, but the infection rate is much higher.

The only one denying anything is you. You are mocking the effects of economic depression.

You/and @KenH are in denial of the dominating figures which reveal the truth about which factors are responsible for the devastation caused by COVID-19 and are one of many on a desperate search to substitute the greatest threat of contagion with unrealistic side issue comparisons through attempting to attribute lower-level threats as what should govern which direction we take to suit your personal paranoid hyper political agendas rather than focus on protecting the well-being of others who are old, sick and weak. No, it is you that needs to do some soul searching over what guides your desires.

Yes, Tucker is a huge disappointment with his joining in and promoting these "unrealistic side issue comparisons through attempting to attribute lower-level threats as what should govern which direction we take to suit your/his personal paranoid hyper political agendas rather than focus on protecting the well-being of others who are old, sick and weak."

Tucker is way smarter than you on this. It's not even close. He is merely saying what Trump is saying, that we have to open the economy soon or the cure will be worse than the disease. Over 22 million people have lost their jobs so far. Unemployment claims just jumped Another 5.25 Million. Are you so blinded that you don't realize this will have lasting consequences?

Yet you continue to mock, just because you yourself may not be personally affected.

Don’t look now but your ignorance is showing… I said, "soon" and if you had a clue of the numbers you would know that is true.
The death rate is low like most flu...
The seasonal flu death rate 0.1%!!! Do you know anything about the facts or do you just repeat ignorant talking points like this is just like another flu? The current death in Italy who was the first to be hit after China is currently OVER 13%!!! The worldwide death rate is 6.6% and the death rate in the USA is currently at 4.4%. You are claiming the flu at 1 death out of a 1,000 is comparable to 7 out of 100?!? You need to stop talking before you remove any doubt of how ignorant you are being...
Please predict what will happen to that number if the world economy takes a dive.
You are the one with the prediction of trying to weigh the urgency of the threat of suicides against the number of deaths from the virus. Obviously in ignorance of what the numbers even are. You fail to show you even consider the lives saved by our sacrifice in the economy – that would be easily over a million lives here in the USA my ignorant non-calculating friend. No one is saying there is not a point in which we will have to open up the economy but you look upon the sacrifice we've made in hysterical panic and like a spoiled child make threats of people taking their own lives while turning a blind eye to the urgency that was absolutely necessary to save a much greater number of lives of people that would have had no choice but to lose their lives from the threat of an out of control virus! And yes! We may have to sacrifice a little more because the economy can come back, chicken little, but the lives lost if we keep control of this virus WILL NOT COME BACK! Your rational thinking is lost in hyper political paranoia, void of common sense and worst of all an unwillingness to make a sacrifice for others.
Tucker is way smarter than you on this. It's not even close.

I would eat Tucker’s lunch in a face to face debate over this issue and leave him with a scolding he would not soon forget.

Yes. We can stay in neutral until May 1. After that it’s gonna be time to put the economy back in drive and SLOWLY start pressing on the accelerator.

Boeing has announced they are going back to work as early as April 20.

You don't know the death rate of COVID-19.

No one knows the death rate of COVID-19.
Well, we know what it was in Iceland, and we know what it was on the Diamond Princess.

We don't know it anywhere in the U.S., because we're not testing the population. Benjamin's meaningless doomsaying is mostly about symptomatic cases in which people sought healthcare.

Both the "gloom and doom" guys and the "no problem here" guys are out on a limb. Neither position can be supported to a legitimate degree. We just do not know yet.

And we won’t know about the U.S. for 2-3 years until comprehensive studies are done. It’s not exactly information we can use to get through this present moment.

Ignorance about what? What have I denied? All that's happening is your heart is getting hardened toward the epidemic of suicide and domestic abuse. My heart isn't hardened toward Covid victims. I support the Presidents temporary mitigation strategy. And just like him, I don't want this to become a deadly global depression.

And you're still refusing to make a prediction about this. With almost a million annual suicides worldwide, are you predicting 0 increase? 10% increase? 20%? And how long will this last? Just a week like the influx of Covid deaths? Or more like year? Do that math on that.

What I see is that you're willing sacrifice some people for others.

The current death in Italy who was the first to be hit after China is currently OVER 13%!!! The worldwide death rate is 6.6% and the death rate in the USA is currently at 4.4%....

And there you have it. It's official. You'll believe anything.

Most educated people know we do not have the current denominator. But you are totally nuts if you think this death rate is 4-6%. No one believes this anymore. You've gone way off the deep end. Not thinking rationally at all. We're looking at .1 to 1% max. Many flu have been much more deadly than this. You also minimize the flu.

This BTW, is dangerous. This is why crazy people are talking about keep the country closed for the rest of the year. Talk about deadly.

Maybe the most extreme I've ever heard. 4-6%! I don't even think Whitmer would go there.

Aaron: "We're not testing the population..."

True, we are not now testing the general population. We are testing people with symptoms. But testing of the general population is starting to happen and will accelerate.

University of Minnesota, Mayo Clinic ramp up COVID-19 testing
The University of Minnesota unveiled a plan Thursday to conduct 20,000 tests per day for COVID-19, the respiratory illness that has now been lab-confirmed in 1912 people in the state and has caused 94 deaths.

Furthermore, VP Mike Pence just announced they will test 600,000 people in the next 2 weeks.
