Makes perfect sense. Thank you for pointing that out. And for the genuine Cyprian quote among other things.Perhaps he has just been trolling this whole time...
Did you convert to KJVOnlyism?
The 2 verses have nothing to do with one another. 1 Timothy 3:16 has a lot of support. By comparision 1 John 5:7 has none. None verses alot. See the difference?I do believe that the Lord still has control over all things and made sure that verses like 1 John 5.7 and 1 Timothy 3.16 are preserved in the KJV
In other words you are totally given over to it. You have been captured. It is called Bible Truth

I think you are on to something. SBG just through away his freedom for onlyism. He does not really practice textual criticism.Perhaps he has just been trolling this whole time...

Has absoloutly nothing to do with it. You were trying to wrongly and foolishly compare 2 different verses one has good support for and some against. The other no real support whatsoever. If you knew textual criticism you would not have compared the different versesHow many of the modern versions read God in 1 Timothy 3.16?
If you are going to post in public use correct English grammar. It is THREW and not THROUGH

You cannot see the differences? You mean like you do?
I gave you a dictionary's definition. Of course only you would reject a dictionary's definition. You moved on through from reason to unreason. You moved through a good side to a bad side. You said THROUGH AWAY. the correct English is THREW or THROW AWAY

Our pastor has recently switched from the NKJV to the ESV in his preaching, and our S/S curriculum. I'm not really familiar with the ESV (I prefer the NKJV, actually) so would appreciate the board members opinions on it. Whether good, bad, or indifferent. Thanks!
Yes. But what I meant was, and should have said, moved through freedom to thralldom. This is what you wrote in # 127, "SBG just through away his freedom for onlyism". the correct English is, "SBG just THREW away his freedom for onlyism". Just admit that you are wrong!
The press releases of Crossway makes some rather bold and inconsistent claims as does the preface of the ESV.The ESV has been considered one of the most accurate translations in English. I use it all the time and I've used all sorts of translations and I find it very readable and also matching the rest.
