"No offense, but how do you not sin ? I'm sure everybody wants to know. Don't just say a saved person cannot sin. (a clear violation of 1John 1:8) But tell us how you get thru everyday life without sinning, so we can too." - Mr. Curtis
"What Ruht's saying is that there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For if you walk after the flesh, then you walk not in the Spirit; and if you walk not in the Spirit, then you walk not with Christ." - Don
"Hi Don.
As much as I respect you, I'm in a little disagreement with you, not on what the Bible says, but what Ruht is saying. He seems to be implying that he is incapable of sin. That's what I'm getting." - Mr. Curtis
"His implication would seem to be that as long as we are walking in the Spirit, we are incapable of sin.
Of course, I should really wait and see what he says about my summarization of his statements."
"I completely agree with what you said. As long as we walk in the spirit, we won't sin. But walking in the spirit, all the time, is just impossible. I think we should avoid sin, and try to not sin on purpose, but my thoughts always go back to David's episode. Being in his home, instead of on the battle field, was the first step. The sin with Bathsheba(sp?), and the susequent killing of Uriah, he HAD to know he was sinning during the entire time, before he first lied down with her. I'm saying sometimes Christians sin willfully, and only repent when the results are shown.
And I also agree that we should wait and see how our friend responds." - Mr. Curtis
Well, thank you all for inquiring of me. I have taken a post I wrote, from another thread, as it may help you. You can see some of my statements on this topic there, also:"Do you really believe you can't sin?
I find that astonishing. I've never met anyone who cannot sin. So, you go through life and you never sin, really? You never have a wrong thought? You never say something and then regret saying it? All your thoughts, words and actions are perfectly righteous?" - AITB
The Bible most certainly validates it; I am sorry you are not able to see it."rhut i do no take a stance on once saved always saved. It is a doctrine that the bible does validate."
If you do not believe in eternal security, you do not totally believe in Christ, or you do not believe in Christ at all. Your faith is instead in your own acts of righteousness; whether you understand that or not."So it appears to me that it in no way contridicts what I beleive."
God states it. The problem with you is that you believe what your own eyes see, not what God has declared unto you."You are the one that is stateing that once saved always saved and at the moment you accept christ one cannot sin."
I have given you my views, many times."So what are your views? It seems that this would contridict what you beleive?"
Not quite sure I know what you mean by that, but if you are saying that I am self-righteous, then you don't know the meaning of the word. For my righteousness is of the Lord, not of myself, which is why you and the rest of the legalists persecute me in the first place."This knife cuts both ways."
On a board where only Christians may post, it seems inappropriate, to me, to imply that another poster is not a Christian, which it seems that you are doing, here.Originally posted by Ruht:
I suggest you put down your finger and your self-righteousness and come to the mercy of the cross and his righteousness, before he turns your finger back on you in away you will forever regret.
I did not say this person wasn't a Christian. However, are you saying that non-Christians cannot possibly post on a board where only Christians may post?"On a board where only Christians may post, it seems inappropriate, to me, to imply that another poster is not a Christian, which it seems that you are doing, here."
And thats why no one understands what you are talking about.I have given you my views, many times.
Since this was written in regard to Don's statement about me, then I believe I have the right to respond to it."So DOn this would lead one to belive that "Today I am walking after the spirit so I am of Christ, Tomorrow I walk after the flesh so I am not of Christ the next day You walk in the Spirit, so on and so forth.
So therefore you are saying that ones salvation is not secure."
Ok, you said "when we such-and-such". Is such-and-such a sin? If so then we can't do it according to you since we can't sin.Originally posted by Ruht:
When we seek justification through attempted obedience to written law, we become self-righteous holier-than-thous, who puff ourselves up and put forth the judgmental finger on others, thinking we are doing the "Lord's work" when we do. We are constantly "provoking" others by our judgmental self-righteousness, and envying those who we think are such great, godly people. We exalt men, including ourselves, rather than Christ, when we think men are capable of obtaining righteousness through their own servitude of God.
And of course the egotistical legalist thinks what he/she understands is what "everyone" else understands."And thats why no one understands what you are talking about."
That's right, I haven't. For I told you that I wanted you to tell me what your position on the matter is, so your own position on the matter could trap you in your erroneous, hypocritical theology."You have in NO way tried to attempt to tell me how someone that has slid away from God commits Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost."
If there is no forgiveness, then what happens to those who do such a thing? do they receive eternal damnation?"Blasphemy is the only sin which there is no forgiveness. And we no inorder to blaspheme the Holy Ghost one must have known God in order to do so. In other words must have been "Saved" "
You tell me."Have you ever commited one of these acts?"
You tell me."Adultry, Fornication, envy, strife, lust, witchcraft, uncleanness, covetousness, filthiness, foolish talking, jesting, whoremonging, idolatry or such things as these?"
Following you so far."If you answer No than you decieve yourself."
(You would like to know, though, wouldn't you.)"I dont want to know what acts you have commited, but being a human you have commited some."
You said it, I didn't."And if you continue to live in these acts, Even after being "Saved" The Bible THE BIBLE says you cannot enter the kingdom of God."
Yes, the Bible most assuredly says that. So what's your point? Have you done a single one of those since you have been saved?"The bible says do not let No man deceive you with vain words, for b/c of these things comes the wrath of God upon the Children of Disobedience."
You haven't a clue as to what you are talking about. Not a clue."In order for this to be written, the writer knew that if someone that is "Saved" should not be doing these things. And if they were doing them than they are not born of God."
Romans 7:14-20A person only has one nature, and nowhere in the Bible does it say otherwise. The doctrine of "two natures" is another invention of legalism. It stems from those engaging in legalism trying to explain things.

Romans 7:20Weeeelll, it's in the NIV.
"Romans 7:14-20
We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. No, as the blind THINKS they can "plainly" see."As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
As you can plainly see, the dual nature is clearly in the Bible."
I ask you: Are the saved "carnal?" are the saved "sold under sin?"
"For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin." - Romans 7:14
Now, Paul wrote that, the same Paul who just got done proclaiming salvation and redemption through Jesus Christ, and stating that we are no longer in the flesh, and that we are no longer under the law.
"For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. BUT NOW WE ARE DELIVERED FROM THE LAW, that being dead wherein we were held, that we should serve in newness of the Spirit, not in oldness of the letter." - Romans 7:5&6
How can Paul, who was saved when he wrote that, who was no longer in the flesh, but in the Spirit, who was no longer under the law, still then be "carnal, sold under sin," and under the law?
Here's a hint: He can't be.
So what's the problem then? a contradiction?
No, not a contradiction, but as usual, a misinterpretation from natural man and blind legalists.
Paul was not referring to himself in his present state in that passage, he was referring to himself as he was when he was a Jew living under the law.
Many have stumbled over this passage.
For one to properly understand this passage, one needs to start at the beginning of where Paul begins to transform himself back to the time he was a Jew living under the law. And this takes place in the 7th verse of that chapter, Romans 7:7:
"What shall we say then? is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I HAD not known sin, but by the law: for I HAD not known lust, except the law has said, Thou shalt not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment WROUGHT in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law, sin was dead. FOR I WAS ALIVE WITHOUT THE LAW ONCE, BUT WHEN THE COMMANDMENT CAME, SIN REVIVED AND I DIED..." - Romans 7:7-9
Paul is beginning the discussion of this topic by reflecting as he was while he was a Jew living under the law. This is why the words "HAD not know sin" were used, and why he states that sin "wrought" in him all manner of concupiscence; because he was speaking in the past tense.
This passage is often misinterpreted by those who do not understand the new birth and the single nature. However, from Verses 7-24 of Romans 7, Paul is speaking of himself as he was when he was a Jew living under the law.
Paul was not "carnal" and he was not "sold under sin" when he wrote that, for he was saved by the purchase of Jesus Christ, and he was born of the Holy Spirit, and not in the flesh, for the old man had been crucified in him, just as he previously stated. It is amazing somewhat that even this simple precept cannot be seen by many so-called Christians. But thus is the truth of I Corinthians 2:14.
Paul was revealing here the power of the spirit of sin in unsaved man, and how the written law made it worse in power. He revealed that the spirit of sin is stronger than the will of unsaved man; thus exposing the error of the doctrine of the "free will."
I'm sorry, but the legalist interpretation of this passage is simply in error.
God bless.

You see Ruhf, here is where your problem lies, you say what you say not to share with people but to prove to everyone else that you are right. Im not going to judge you but by your post where is the love that you should be sharieng. But instead of shareing you want to trap us. And this is what is said about a man that like thatThat's right, I haven't. For I told you that I wanted you to tell me what your position on the matter is, so your own position on the matter could trap you in your erroneous, hypocritical theology.
And I asked you a question. My views are not what is on trial. You are the one that wants to answer all the questions, I have a curious mind. So please tell me. If you show me in the bible that I am wrong. Praise God, I will gladly say so. Ask Don, he has shown me a lot. And I have shown him some thingsJeremiah 5:26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.
There is no forgiveness and yes they receive eternal damnation Matt 12:32 Mark 3:29If there is no forgiveness, then what happens to those who do such a thing? do they receive eternal damnation?
I dont know you. You claim to be perfect so I dont know. I have if that is what you are asking. You tell me.
No I really would not. If you are doing something that is b/t you and God not you and Me. I got enough problems to worry about. thats what your pastor is there for. But I will pray for you if you would like.(You would like to know, though, wouldn't you.)
ALL THE TIME, BUT I GET BACK UP AND KEEP TRYING TO DO BETTER.Therefore, have YOU ever committed a single one of those acts, after you were saved?
Yea I sure have. And Thank God I did not stay deceived.Yes, the Bible most assuredly says that. So what's your point? Have you done a single one of those since you have been saved?
No, May God bless you. He's blessed me enough and if he never does nething for me again, I will be content.God bless, Oneness.
You see Oneness, I say what I say to prove that Christ is right so that people don't have to be in bondage under finger-pointers like yourself."You see Ruhf, here is where your problem lies, you say what you say not to share with people but to prove to everyone else that you are right."
Oh shut up, you already have. Who in the heck do you think you are fooling? Your self-righteousness is as nauseating as can be."Im not going to judge you but by your post where is the love that you should be sharieng."
