EVs are running out of customers

Aha! My experiences in Wisconsin say that used to be a big cause of cars getting rusty. Nowadays cars seem more protected from rust due to salt water, but there are still plenty of rusty cars around here.

Don't know if the road salt hurts an EV battery, though. Anyone?
However, Alberta cold will certainly reduce the range of EVs. And as one who spent 45 years as a Maine forester including 10 in the Allagash-St. John region, I doubt that making EVs that can haul off-road loads (up to 100 tons) at -30F is sensible, as the Diesel used by those rigs is a drop in the overall fossil-fuel bucket.
(Ironically, the huge machines used in open-pit mining use Diesel to generate electricity for the motors at each wheel or track sprocket.)

yeah, I have often thought about getting one of these things, but I think it's just because of the novelty factor. Not for me - too rural and hilly, some guy I know out here has that same model of Tesla and he says running anything - the heat, the AC, headlights and so on drain the battery even faster, where he can only go 50 miles without a charge. He always does his at home, the charging stations elsewhere are so unreliable.

Years ago, I almost bought an e-bike but was warned it could all of a sudden just catch on fire, Salt water is terrible on any e-vehicle:

Electric Vehicle Fires Caused by Salt Water Flooding.

Saltwater is a lithium-ion battery's worst enemy. This aqueous prototype embraces it.

even road salt, which they use here and/or the extreme cold are hard on these things:

Road salt, electric vehicles, drugs, smartphones can all be affected by really cold temps - UPI.com

the technology to use them in place of ICE vehicles just isn't there yet.
