I've realized that being here is hurting rather than helping me spirtually. I keep hearing the same things over and over by the same group of people and I'm sick of ignorance and blindness. So I am saying farewell. I have my own mission given to me by God that I have to work toward and that requires study and contemplation via the Holy Spirit. I've enjoyed some of my time here but the majority of what I've seen/read is saddening to me and I hope people can understand why I must say adios.

To my fellow believers, here's to meeting again in heaven! :3

To everyone else, may God have mercy!!

Online forums can be very difficult places. I've taken long breaks from this board in the past, so I understand how it can deter rather than advance spiritual growth.

I wish you the best, and if you change your mind you are more than welcome to stay or come back.

Blessings.

Totally understand!!! Been there, done that!!

I once took a "sabattacal" some 7-8 years ago, and once I returned I had a good concept of the nature of this beast, and have enjoyed it since.

Two points that helped me tremendously:
1 Once you determine the ones that get your BP up, put them on "IGNORE", (I have 3 on I now)
2 Realize that many are here to a) feed their ego and/or b) to foment dissension in some manner; thus requiring NO response.

Whether you opt for total or temporary absence from this board, I wish you God-speed in your future.

Goodbye and good luck finding what you are looking for.

If I could offer one piece of advice, it would be to avoid the Calvinism vs Arminianism section of any board if you are going to tell people that what they believe is wrong, but not want to "keep hearing the same things over and over by the same group of people". That is what the Calvinism vs Arminianism debate is all about (at least for the last half millennium).

Well, personally, I don't think you've hung around here near long enough to learn anything. Such impatience will assure that you remain ignorant and blind.
Sadly many do not have the patience or the ability to put their thoughts out but respond to scriptural challenge.
Like a person needing help who does not think.they have a problem , so they seek a geographical cure, rather than stand fast and interact.

"I want my way".

7 "Let the wicked man forsake his own way and the unrighteous man his own thoughts;
let him return to the LORD, that He may have compassion, and to our God,

for He will freely pardon.

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,”
declares the LORD.

9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.…"

So I am saying farewell.

I totally understand, having taken about a seven year break from this board in the past after having posted on here - a lot - for eight years. Sometimes the keyboard yelling and angst gets to the point where one questions the point of even participating on this board. May God bless you on your spiritual journey.

Yes, I've found this is true as well. Funny, how no one addressed this part of your post.

A Baptist discussion board should NOT be damaging to one's spiritual health, but sadly, it happens here.

I've enjoyed your enthusiasm and "on fire" personality for the Lord. I hope you are blessed wherever you journey.

Can't help but notice the Calvinist faction all ganged up on you. Even in this thread they are piling on. You have been called ignorant, blind, impatient, selfish, in denial and unable to articulate your positions. So sad to see.

I just got back from a self-imposed one week vacation and I've taken several in the past year. I don't think I'll make it through the election cycle. Could be my time to permanently leave.

I will echo what someone else has said. Wherever you go, AVOID the C/A screaming matches. I have never seen anyone's opinions change.

The important thing - is that breaks are necessary when one's spiritual mindset is hurting. I've taken several breaks across the past 18 years here and I am currently on a Facebook break until after the election.

I know what dissension does to me and especially when I am partly an instigator of it.

Christians on social media? Hard to tell the difference sometimes between them and Pharisees. We should all be ashamed.

She came out swinging and people pushed back. You can't pray for the demon to come out of someone because they disagree with you and expect to be "spiritually uplifted" by that person.

I am with you on this ... I prefer to ignore ALL Politics sections of ALL boards. Too much heat for too little light.

I don't think Jesus would be particularly impressed with any political party on this planet.

If you had asked for help I'm sure you would have received it, but in fact your opening post in the thread "Is God the author of evil was very aggressive and, I have to say, rather ignorant.
If you want an open and friendly discussion, start with an open and friendly post.
I'm sorry if you found my posts unkind. They weren't meant to be, but rather to make you think. But if you found them hurtful, you have my apology.
I hope, in any case, that you will take the time to read and understand some of the replies you received, especially my posts #175 and #176, so that, if you still disagree with them, you will at least have some knowledge of why Reformed people believe as they do.

Good advice.

There are a few that come here that think they are going to change the board... There is one now that is hanging around the C/A Forum thinking he is here on a mission to change the Calvinist brethren... Good luck with that!... During the time on here, I've developed a thick skin, not easily offended and roll with the punches... But I agree to disagree but never take it to heart that the one I'm speaking too is not saved just like I am by Jesus Christ... Usually the one we are speaking to is a believer not a deceiver.

I have agreed and disagreed with brethren and preachers of my own church... And I dare say that those on here no matter what denomination they belong to have done the same... I believe the reason I lasted as long on this board as I have, I will tell you what I believe... Now I'm not going to tell you to believe as I believe, you may and you may not... Maybe you need more understanding on the matter or maybe I need to re-access my understanding and come to a greater understanding than I first had... None of us will change what we believe, until there is something better to replace it... There have been many viewpoints I have changed over the years, not because I argued with someone till I was blue in the face but because I listened and Lord changed my point of view... Brother Glen:)

2 Timothy 2:7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

I would say look for the forums that are not decisive. For example
in Christian fellowship, Jokes, polls, Health&Wellness, travel, and history.
Hope you will at least check out some of those.
We would hate to see you leave.

I truly hope you read and study God's word. It is through the reading of the word that the false teaching of our past gets expunged and God shows us His Sovereign goodness. Many years ago, I was like you, but over the years of observing the Bible and recognizing the incorrect teachings of freewill teachers, I was able to rest in God and hold things lightly. Once you rest in God's Sovereignty, you realize how self-centered you were...thinking that you were somehow going to impress God with your zealous works. The weight gets released and you work out of pure love for your King.

Great advise (for here and where ever life may find you, @Miss E).

People do not come here seeking correction but you will find many here to seeking to correct the doctrine of others.

My suggestion to anyone on any forum is to be there to better understand other people, their views, and how they understand yours. Never try to change another's view on a Christian forum (we do not have that right). The goal is understanding.

Weigh their view and look at yours. If there us a change it will be offline and most likely have nothing to do with anyone here.

Again, blessings and if you choose to stay report what you see as abusiveness.
