Flight MH370 -Let's speculate?

Each day that goes by without any wreckage being found, starts to lead us to think that maybe, JUST MAYBE, this plane was hijacked.

And let's say it turns out to be a hijacking ... tell me, what would be the rationale behind hijacking this plane, and what would the hijackers hope to gain?

Secondly, if the plane were in fact hijacked, what do you think the countries, who have citizens aboard, should or would consider doing?

Finally, if perhaps this plane is hijacked, who could possible be behind it, and what do you think their reasoning may be?

I'll start it out .... if the plane was hijacked, and it is sitting in some country, well hid, is it possible that the hijackers are going to fit the plane with a huge bomb, aim it at some country, and use the people on the original flight as "Human shields!" And let's say, for the sake of argument, that they pointed it at America, Europe or Russia, would the country have a hard time shooting the flying bomb down? It would pose a huge moral issue ...

Possible but I don't think so, anyone knows we would take it out. I think it was a dry run or practice if you will. Maybe they tried to see if they could fly a jet without being seen? Not sure how they could do it, but no one seems to be know where they were at for a period of time.

I had an airline pilot tell me if hijackers attempted to use a stewardess as a hostage - the pilots are not to give in and to remain locked in the cockpit.

Interesting query - but I am pretty sure there is a shoot down policy now, at least in the US.

Personally, I don't see a moral issue at all with that scenario. The blood of the innocent is on the aggressor's hands, not the defender. Best case scenario is that no innocents ever die, and human shields make it out alive. But, if a human shield has to die to save more people, then their blood is on the user's hands.

Don't get me wrong, I would not kill a human shield to save my own life. But I would in a heartbeat to save my family's.

Scenario (a wild one):

The plan has been hijacked by jihadists and is on an especially prepared island under a camouflage canopy.

It is to be retrofitted with bomb dropping capability, probably nuclear.

You know the rest of the story.

The plane made a 90 degree turn and headed straight for Somalia which is in range on a full tank of fuel, a country with a wonderful reputation of piracy and hijacking. The most likely obstacle that would need to be circumvented in route to Somalia would be Diego Garcia.

If this is a sophisticated hijacking, that would be the most logical destination of the pirates. So many countries with militaries are going to be involved in the search now for this large craft, it's hard for me to imagine terrorists hiding it for long, meaning if they're going to 're-purpose' it, the sooner the better for success in a suicide mission, jmho of course.

The lastest on the aircraft's last known communication is that it took place at 8:11 a.m. Malaysia time, six hours after it "disappeared." The comm link from the engines quit working at that time, consistent with the engines being shut down upon landing and taxiing to its parked position.

Six hours could have put it in one of the "Stans" under the belly of Russia, certainly within the realm of possibility it is in Pakistan or even eastern iran, though it isn't likely the fuel would have gotten it as far as Iran.

If the plane didn't go down in the Indian Ocean, there is no limit to what anyone who took it might intend to do with it. The question is, can the U.S.'s vaunted elint collection system be used to backtrack through recorded information and potentially identify within a few miles, at least, of where the aircraft might be?

I wouldn't bet against it. The potential for the plane being used in a short-route attack from a 'Stan, including Pakistan, is such that even if we know where it is and sit awaiting it's next takeoff, we might not be able to get to it before an attack on a U.S. carrier group, or Israel.

Could it have made it to one of the 'stans' without being detected by radar? Particularly a fly over China or India.

Like 19 men with boxcutters pirating 4 aircraft, killing almost 3000 people, totally destroying two skyscrapers on American soil, destroying part of the Pentagon building and changing the course of everyone's life?

For certain the aircraft is down in water or on land. We know a 777 cannot be refueled in the air. Whether the flight crashed or not is not readily apparent. The erratic flight patterns would indicate the driver probably has not practiced many landings. They may have been doing a 911 on Tel Aviv or Jerusalem and got lost.

Life in this dimension can be shorter than we may think--pray hard.

4. Act of disappearing on purpose.

Anything I'm thinking at this point is not positive, not that there would be a positive - but crashing is more "positive" than what things are looking like given recent suspicions in the news of the plane being purposely diverted shortly after it took off.

If hijacked, then the passengers are one of two things to the hijackers - assets or liabilities.

Why would they do that? I don't know. One would have to think about what the people wanted. Do they want the airplane? Do they want the people? Do they want both? Are they re-purposing all of the electronics of the plane itself, and of the passengers, such as cell phones, computers, etc. to help equip themselves and other terrorists? Gaining an entire airplane of that size and all the equipment on it is quite a feat. Having that many hostages at their command is quite a bit of control as a starting point. That there has been no communication yet says something major is in the works.

IF that is what this is and it worked for them. If it was a relatively simple act of terrorism and it was over, someone would have claimed it by now. If it wasn't, it's pretty odd that nothing appears to have been found as of yet - at least not anything that would appear as proof of an accident.

Why haven't we heard the most plausible theory of UFO abduction or hi-jacking? Aliens took the plane to their Mother Ship and it is cloaked so we cannot see it. The plane will reappear in the future sometime with a miraculous story that everyone buys into and the 239 people are actually aliens on the inside while looking like the people that were missing. This is how they will take us over. :thumbs::thumbs:

I think if enough people came up with enough ideas, it might actually help. It's not like they seem to know...so the next best thing is people coming up with ideas and then seeing which ideas fit best, just like you would when you're trying to narrow down most anything you don't know about. Start with discarding what you know did not happen, then start saying what could have happened until a story starts emerging that starts to fit, then you start getting somewhere when it starts fitting the little bits that are known.

I don't think UFO's fit into that!
