“Vile!!” began Walter Shaub, the former director of the Office of Government Ethics, on a Twitter thread. “What POTUS says ‘exemplifies selfless public service’ is: dehumanizing inmates, racial profiling, and gleefully defying a court order.”

Shaub tweeted that the pardon was a “harbinger of worse to come.”

What is vile is Walter Shaub's comment concerning an 85-year-old man convicted of a misdemeanor without a jury trial to satisfy the hatred of the Democrats and the hatred of Obama who personally disregarded long-established law. Do the Democrats have any shame or are they without shame?

Here is what President Trump tweeted:

"I am pleased to inform you that I have just granted a full Pardon to 85 year old American patriot Sheriff Joe Arpaio. He kept Arizona safe!"

And here I thought you were a law and order person. Guess I was wrong. Why not show the ex-sheriff as much consideration and mercy as he showed others?

Obama pardoned a full-fledged traitor in Bradley Manning and I guess that you applaud that? We are talking about a misdemeanor here--are you letting your partisanship cloud your judgement?

By the way, contempt of court, is neither a misdemeanor nor a felony. It falls outside the legal definitions of either.

I don't know why you put all your own words in bold? As Democrat comedian Will Rogers used to say, all I know is what I read in the newspapers. So in your latest allegation against Trump, I can merely cite Fox News, which said that it is a misdemeanor charge:

Ex-Sheriff Joe Arpaio found guilty of criminal contempt

The Democrats lost the election because of stuff like this and the fact that everyone, even Democrats, consider Hillary to be a liar. Plus, Democrats are notorious for showing contempt for rural America and the people trapped there in poverty due to globalism and open borders. You yourself hate the Sheriff because he tried to protect the people of Arizona from the flood of criminals released by the cartels and the Mexican government into the USA.

Mr. Arpaio was a great sheriff. He stopped treating inmates like kings and like the criminals they were by housing and feeding them at the lowest cost possible to the taxpayers of Maricopa county . These inmates had a choice and if they didn't want to sleep in tents and eat baloney sandwiches all they had to do was to refrain from committing crimes and I for one have no sympathy for them.

As for the court order, Sheriff Arpaio was defending the oath he took upon taking office and arresting people who were here in defiance of our laws was part and parcel of his job. The man was/is a patriot!

My question is, if he TRULY violated a court order to "stop discriminating against Latinos" why isn't he being brought up on civil rights charges ?

So someone who did their best to enforce and uphold legal law, and tried to keep smugglers/killers/terrorists out of USA is vile person?

The irony is all of the people that usually crow the mantra "what part of illegal don't you understand" with regards to immigration will shrug their shoulders at the good sheriff.

He got on the wrong side of Obama, that's what he did wrong. Obama and his DoJ thought he was racially profiling, and Soros threw a bunch of money at some challenger in 2016 and Sheriff Joe was finally defeated that year.

Bradley or Chelsea or whatever name Manning goes by these days wasn't pardoned but his sentence was commuted. Nobody was really surprised at the time, and nobody should be by this pardon - elections have consequences. The left is having a meltdown over this, but checks and balances are what they are.

So the Sheriff was basically doing his job too well then?

And that approves of institutional racism. Reminds one of events in Germany in the 1920's.

Really, you are over the top on this one. This was a very minor matter and the Democrats have pardoned some real criminals under Obama and Bill Clinton, who was disbarred for perjury and impeached. Does Clinton remind you of a German in that he likes very young girls or do you think that that is as much over the top as you are with the 1920s stuff?
