Do you call everything that you dislike “Lordship Salvation” even when it has absolutely nothing to do with Lordship Salvation? Your posts are typical of people who have no knowledge with which to argue against a position that they dislike, so they mindlessly attack the position using that which is of no relevance. My post includes numerous objective facts that are supported by massive databases of word usage among first and second century Christians. Your post includes no data, no facts, nothing that is true, and nothing of relevance.
Thanks… I will be attentive to your loud mouthed attitude from now on. I really like your sort… just quote some scripture and they love that! Critical thinking, not so much. Got it… LOL.

In Calvinist speak, that is what’s recognized as’ perseverance’ and John MacArthur would call it, ‘Lordship Salvation’ so are you stating these are not biblical stances? Once again, the Reformed community has built them right into their Doctrines of Grace which they celebrate. With that said, now everyone can be puritanical.

You can call it what you want. Those that continue in faith will be eternally saved. Those that fall away from their trust in Christ will be lost. That's biblical I do not need the calvinists or arminians or John MacArthur to tell me what it is. I believe what the Holy Spirit inspired.

And I admire that. I search for truth, not the crap doctrines of over brainwashed sycophants attempting to sell a particular dogma… where does that get us?

so how does one "continue in faith"?

Colossians 1:21. And you, who once were estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds,
22. he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable before him,
23. provided that you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister. (RSV)

Apparently, I did not understand your question. Please rephrase it.

On the other hand, perhaps you did not understand my answer. Therefore, I will rephrase it.

We continue in faith by following Paul’s admonition to remain stable and steadfast in our faith, and not shifting from the hope of the gospel which he preached and has been taught all over the world. In other words, Paul told us what to do, and it is our responsibility to heed his admonition.

All true believers are kept by the Power of the Holy Spirit

It not about us but our Great and Powerful God

So there is no room for a ‘carnal Christian’ in your belief system?
Your view not mine.
Salvation is gift, not by means of one's works.
1 Corinthians 3:13-15, . . . Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

And you are suggesting that it’s the preaching of the gospel that saves?

you do not understand what I said in #144! :Rolleyes

Yes, did you understand what I said in # 149. You have read enough of my posts that I do not think your question was really necessary. Or perhaps you did not understand what I have written before. But either way the answer is I trust what the bible says.
