George Floyd - the rest of the story

Are you saying that the drugs took had NOTHING to do with his death?
Drugs contributed to his death. The autopsy results show that to be true.

You stated earlier something along the lines of that the officer “hastened” Mr. Floyd’s death.

Do you believe that?

peace to you

The moral of the story for police officers is you don’t get to sentence someone to death for being a petty criminal and drug addict, even if they resist arrest.
It would be much better if that were the real concern in this matter. But that's about as far from the truth as one could get. This is all about supposed white privilege, sumpremacy, etc. Shapiro is right about that.

The Chauvin case, then, is a legally complex one. But such complexities have been abandoned in favor of narrative.

Should Chauvin be acquitted, we are likely to hear that America has proved its racism once again. The only thing that has already been proved, however, is that the “America as white supremacist” lie will remain the media’s dominant narrative, no matter the data.

Lets see - exactly what I said:
(bold = my emphasis)

He would have died anyways, based on the amount of drugs he had.
If he “expedited” his death, then that leaves less time for EMS to provide care that may have saved his life.

God left us, whether it be the jury or we of this forum or all, something to be worked out, right or wrong but I will state my belief.

George Floyd did not die one nanosecond before or after his appointed time.

Distraction from facts.

The only reason to keep a knee on the neck of a handcuffed man that is unconscious, unresponsive, and with no discernible pulse is makes certain he dies.

peace to you

After showing Blackwell an image of Chauvin pinning his knee of George Floyd’s neck, she was asked if it was a trained technique used by the department while she was division training commander. “No it is not,” she replied. "And why not?" a prosecutor asked. “Use of force, according to policy, has to be consistent with MPD training and what we train are neck restraints… the conscious and unconscious neck restraint,” she said. "I don't know what kind of improvised position that is," she added. "So that's not what we train." Court adjourned shortly after and will resume Tuesday morning.

Aw shucks, a real attorney would NEVER claim Chauvin "sentenced him to death". You'll probably get your wish to railroad this cop. just look at the jurors:

  • A white man in his 20s who works as an accountant, has a 6-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog and plans to move out of state at the end of May.
  • A white woman in her 20s who works as a social worker and recently was married.
  • A white woman in her 50s who described herself as an animal lover with a passion for affordable housing.
  • A white woman in her 40s who works in insurance and said she loves the state of Minnesota.
  • A black woman in her 60s who retired from marketing and said she loves spending time with her grandkids and volunteering at a youth organization.
  • A white nurse in her 50s who works with ventilated COVID-19 patients.
  • A mixed-race woman in her 40s who works in company reorganization.
  • A black man in his 40s who works in management and has lived in Hennepin County for two decades.
  • A white woman in her 50s who works in health care and likes to ride her motorcycle.
  • A black man in his 30s who works in banking and coaches youth sports.
  • A white woman in her 50s who works at a nonprofit and is the single mother of two teenage sons.
  • A black man in his 30s who works in tech and immigrated from Africa to the U.S.
  • A white business auditor in his 30s.
  • A mixed-race woman in her 20s who said she registered to vote in hope of getting a jury summons for the Chauvin case.
  • A white chemist in his 20s who works in environmental testing and plays Ultimate Frisbee.
(not linking to USA because they capitalize one race and not the other, PC fools that they are)

there is hope one or more will hang it up, maybe the chemist or something, but he is young. No matter, the verdict will be overturned, they wouldn't grant a change of venue. This is what a real attorney thinks:

Yes, exactly. The Dem Progressive Left and their MSM are all about distracting from the facts to propagate a false narrative.

Shapiro is right about this. Reasonable doubt, not mob rule, is the standard. But in the Dem Progressive Left narrative it's the opposite.

Shapiro Breaks Down The Start Of Chauvin Trial
No doubt those that hold to a radical liberal leftist ideology don’t care about due process or justice. Everything is about moving their agenda forward.

Peace to you

Did the police act appropriately?
No. When the police took away Mr. Floyd's ability to act they assumed responsibility for his well being. They should have called for medical assistance as soon as Mr. Floyd said he could not breathe.

Now, is this murder (1st or 2nd degree)? No. But it is neglect and most likely neglect homicide.

If he were bleeding out and the officers would not stop the glow of blood, would not get him medical attention, but just let him die then it would be the same. Maybe he would have died anyway - BUT at least the chance of not dying would be there.

Mr. Floyd was in had shaped by his own hand. He was a bad guy. He may have died even if medical help was provided. BUT he was in custody and had the right to the care he was deprived (even if it was a 1 in 1k chance, he had the right yo that chance and the officers had the duty to provide it.

Aw shucks, a real attorney would NEVER claim Chauvin "sentenced him to death". You'll probably get your wish to railroad this cop......
For the record, I’ve never claimed to be an attorney and I’ve never “wished” the cop to be “railroaded”.

My default position is to support the police, and give them the benefit of the doubt. When this story first broke, I made the very argument on this board that others continue to make concerning the drugs, the resisting and so on.

The video changed my mind. Watching that cop stay on Mr. Floyd’s neck for 2:45 seconds after being told he had no discernible pulse sickened me. When one of the other cops suggested they change his position so he could breath better and the cop said no, it sickened me.

Attacking the makeup of this jury as being prone to “railroad” this cop is unfair to them and the system we have.

The legal process will run its course. We will watch it and disagree on the outcome.

peace to you
