A liberal Christian is one who twists scripture, in order to allow gay church members, women preachers, and tell us John the Baptist wasn't alive in the womb. They are ones who will elevate the word of man & compare it with what is in the Bible. They are the ones who tell us we evolved from apes, that there never was a family saved from a wold-wide flood, and Jonah never was in a water-born creature for three days. A liberal Christian is one who says Jesus hung out with sinners & never called them out. A liberal will judge other's giving, despite scriptural warnings to do so. A liberal Christian will say the death penalty is old-fashioned, and we need to adapt the bible to the 21st century.

Are you ever going to answer my question about who, why & how Jesus forgives ?

Jesus forgives those who repent, turn from their sinful ways, and ask for forgiveness ... even though the know they will fall short again and again. David in the OT is a good example.

You are right, liberals do try to force scripture to say what they want it to say ... and that is not limited to just the topics you mentioned. It may be the intentional use of scripture in an erronous way. Proof texting is an example of the liberal use of scripture.

Thanks for your input on this.

Liberals have a low view of scripture regardless of what they claim. They like personal experience and science more and work to interpret scripture by them rather than interpret science and personal experience by scripture. They reduce the word of God to oral traditions and flawed scribblings of men and choose to ignore the supernatural hand of God in keeping His word. They reduce scripture to myths and allegories where none exist so as to be able to cling to their humanistic secular view of the world. They live sad lives with a Bible that has no authority or power for their lives.

So how many lepers have you touched so far this year? Or do you repudiate his teaching?

I've never met a leper. Have you?

Have no idea what you mean by repudiate his teaching. I simply said that in that society he would have been considered a liberal.

I simply said that in that society he would have been considered a liberal.

My guess would be that conservative/liberal would have been a foreign concept to the people of that time.

My guess is that the classifications would have been more along the lines of righteous/unrighteous.

Jesus challenged their views of their self righteousness.

I suspect that Jesus would not have considered someone to be truly righteous who voted for Obama while at the same time lecturing others about what it means to be pro-life.

I can't say that I have. Then what did you mean by "We are to apply what Christ taught and how he treated other to our own lives" if you ain't doing it?

Do you think touching others and treating them well is limited to lepers?

What is your understanding on how we should treat others?

Did you not say we should apply to our lives how Christ treated others?

Jesus is our example as to how we should treat others ... and his teachings also tell us how we should treat others. Do you agree?

What is your understanding of his teachings on how we are to treat others?

Of course you guys think it is a false premise, because you are liberals.

"Jesus was a liberal." For all the whining I hear that conservatives mix politics and religion too much, this is exactly what you do with statements like this.

So do you think that the Europe becoming post-Christian and politically liberal is just a coincidence?

I don't think there is a causal relationship. I think the church, both in Europe and in the US, is becoming less like the New Testament church. In the uS the church is identified more with politics than with Christianity.

Then why don't you follow his example and touch lepers? Also, do you overhear self-righteous leaders and call them "broods of vipers?" If you see anyone selling mercandise in a 'temple,' do you chase him or her out with a whip?

For the record, I do call our head-of-state a fox (among other names), following Jesus' example.

Not sure what you are driving at. But as I said I've not met any lepers.

I have worked at a free clinic, have helped people with lots of diseases including AIDS.

Haven't seen anyone selling merchandise in a 'temple'. Have you?

I'd be booted from this board if I called other a 'brood of vipers'. LOL

So, how about answering my question. How should we treat others?
