Aw, shucks, let's just pick a date...

Isn't it amazing that when you read Scripture and it gives you
a hint of when certain events (like certain wars) are bound to
occur, everyone jumps on the bandwagon and does a rain dance -
doesn't anyone heed Bible prophecy or take note of clear references
to the Tribulation period? Most churches and their leaders are
totally clueless as to Biblical Prophecy - they are allergic to the
Book of Revelation and they think the OT prophets are passe -
yet -
2 Peter 1:19 - And we have the word of the prophets made more certain,
and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
and
Revelation 1:3 -
Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
Seeing definite clues in the Bible when certain things are going
to occur (and I'm definitely not talking about the rapture or
definite date setting, but when the Bible tells me the Kings of the East will march over the dried up riverbed of the Euphrates after the 6th bowl judgment - I know it's in the 2nd half of the tribulation, and I believe it.I wouldn't dream of date setting though - that's totally unscriptural, and there have been many false prophets in the past who have done that - the rapture is a signless event - it's imminent - can happen at any moment, but when world events start building up and taking shape for a one world government, one world religion, etc - as they have never done before - then you know things
are coming to a head - and you look up, because your redemption is drawing near, but of course, you still don't know the date, eh?
Seeing certain things happening in the world today makes me both excited and sad. Excited that I'll be going home, and sad to leave my loved ones behind who aren't saved.
