Eschatology doesn't contain the moral teaching so needed today.
Eschatology has always had a focus on morality.
It is because God lets us know in advance what is going to happen that lives are impacted. And understanding Prophecy as best as we can is a basic Bible lesson. Look at Israel, who looked for physical blessings only in regards to the coming of Christ. They felt He would be a physical descendant Who would rise up, cast out their enemies, restore Israel's glory, and from thence on would not fail to have a son on the throne.
Christ rebukes Peter for his fleshly desire:
Matthew 16:20-23
King James Version (KJV)
20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
We see they are still carnally minded on the very Day of Ascension:
Acts 1:4-7
King James Version (KJV)
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
They are just told "You will in a few days receive the Promise of the Spirit I taught you about," and they ask for the physical Kingdom Scripture teaches will come.
Still no clue as to Who Christ really is.
Paul lived in hope of the Rapture:
2 Corinthians 5
King James Version (KJV)
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
He says "I yearn for that house not made with hands. Not simply that I die and go to be with the Lord, where I would be unclothed, without my earthly tabernacle...but that I would receive that body He has in store for me."
Seeing that Paul would not yearn for being glorified in the Rapture if he knew the Tribulation would come first, the Pre-Tribulation Rapture is again supported by the teachings of Paul.
Eschatology demands holy living:
2 Peter 3:10-12
King James Version (KJV)
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.
God bless.
