    You are funny.
Of course there were some preachers in the Puritan fold who were legalists and struggled with grace. This is not a cause for throwing the baby out with the bath water.

You make it seem that having prudence somehow equals having no fun. How silly of you.

Your incapacity to grasp that God dwells outside of your timeline is fascinating.
That God chose us before the foundation of the world, to be adopted as his child seems foreign to you.
Your understanding of Hebrews 11 through Hebrews 12:3 is amiss.

Do you not recognize that God sees all things happening all at once since he is Sovereign over all?

You beat a drum that is irrelevant to this topic and inconsequential to the saints of God.

How did they treat the Quakers? How about Roger Williams (who at that time was a Baptist)? You do understand don’t you that they never had any tolerance for anyone who wasn’t them, right. They showed allot of their Christian love by beating, flogging and banishing those that didn’t emulate them. Well if you call that fun, it is surly an absurd and perverse type of fun. But then again, contemplating the world with any degree of insight must convince one that it is indeed an absurd place we live in. Thankfully, their moment in time has come and gone and they are relegated to the past history of inflexibility and wonton fanatics. Bless their poor dead souls.

I have noted that in the past few weeks since you came back you have spent nearly all your time complaining about others yet never acknowledging your own wretchedness. Do you ever gaze inward or do you simply look to accuse the brethren?

Cornelius was most definitely 'other sheep not of this fold':

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd. Jn 16

...and, there were MORE of them among the Nations than there were among the Jews:

1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith Jehovah.
2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations; spare not: lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.
3 For thou shalt spread aboard on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall possess the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. Isa 54

This began with Cornelius in Acts 10

    16 .... them also I must bring... Jn 16

'As lightning lights up the entire sky, from the east unto the west, so is He in His kingdom'. A marvelous fulfillment of many OT prophecies, I call it 'the enlargement':

24 for as the lightning, when it lighteneth out of the one part under the heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall the Son of man be in his day. Lu 17

And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Mt 24:31

And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven: but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast forth into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. Mt 8.11-12

God enlarge Japheth , And let him dwell in the tents of Shem .... Gen 9:27

But thanks be unto God, who always leadeth us in triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest through us the savor of his knowledge in every place. 2 Cor 2:14

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea. Hab 2:14

And he shall stand, and shall feed his flock in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah his God: and they shall abide; for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. Micah 5:4

So shall they fear the name of Jehovah from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of Jehovah driveth. Isa 59:19

For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the Gentiles, saith Jehovah of hosts. Mal 1:11

Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass that, in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. Hosea 1:10

And it shall come to pass in the latter days, that the mountain of Jehovah`s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. Isa 2:2

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto Jehovah; And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. Ps 22:27

Jehovah will be terrible unto them; for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the nations. Zeph 2:11

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy king cometh unto thee; he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass. And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off; and he shall speak peace unto the nations: and his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. Zech 9:9-10

For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: For more are the children of the desolate than of her that hath the husband. Gal 4:27

And no man putteth new wine into old wineskins; else the wine will burst the skins, and the wine perisheth, and the skins: but they put new wine into fresh wine-skins. Mark 2:22

After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands; Rev 7:9

At that time will I bring you in, and at that time will I gather you; for I will make you a name and a praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I bring back your captivity before your eyes, saith Jehovah. Zeph 3:11

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the root of Jesse, that standeth for an ensign of the peoples, unto him shall the nations seek; and his resting-place shall be glorious. Isa 11:9-10

Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. Mt 21:34

    Just not the case, Austin.

Not at all, I recognize the Omniscience and foreknowledge of God taught in Scripture.

That doesn't change the order of events within time.

So I will ask you a simple question: have you been a born-again believer since the time you were conceived and actually entered into time?

I would be very pleased for you to show me why I amiss.

I understand Hebrews as a whole, not in proof texts.

Hebrews 11, by the way, isn't "understood through Hebrews 12:3." Would you mind quoting me being guilty of that which you charge me of, or, admit you are simply trying to insult because you don't have a leg to stand on?

    ;)

    Certainly.

    And ...?

Do you not recognize that though time is immaterial to God that it is God that established time?

And that there are points in time when God effected certain things?

    Here's an example:

    John 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

The Son of God is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (within God's sphere of Omniscience and foreknowledge) but did not die until He was crucified roughly 2,000 years ago.

Your argument, therefore, holds no bearing to my own statements, nor does it deny the points made are valid.

That is what you need to do, Austin. Show from Scripture why the points are invalid, as I have done with yours. You cannot claim to have been born again since conception, nor can you claim Christ died prior to Calvary.

    Scripture prevents that.

It is relevant, and until you show why it isn't you will be forced to make comments like this.

C'mon, Austin, you can do better. I know you can.

    God bless.

On whose timeline? God's or ours?
If you asked God, "When was I born again?", would he say the same thing as you?

Can you just answer the question?

Answer in both contexts, that would be okay.

    Please answer this as well:

Again, it depends on my view of my salvation or God's view of my salvation.
For me, I was brought to faith at age 4. When I read God's word, I see that I was chosen and adopted before the foundation of the world.
So, you can see that your simplistic question and demand is not so simple as you imagine it to be.
I ask you, do you deny that God chose and adopted you before the foundation of the world?

There is zero Biblical teaching for this. You could, if you would, give, how you come to that interpretation.

Here's my scripture from which I see myself as having been adopted from before the foundation of the world, yet my adoption is completed in time as I experience it.

    Ephesians 1:3-6
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.

    Romans 8:15,23-24,29-30

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
