Libs need to talk about stupid fallacies like this to detract from the communist wealth redistribution that McCain is making obvious.

I agree, perhaps we should start asking for McCain's birth certificate...

Our tax system is already a communist redistribution of wealth so what McCain is doing is trying to scare people with the obvious.

McCain has already provide his BC. As far as the tax system you are correct. it is also unconstitutional and needs to be corrected.

Campaign spending on personal items is.

Edwards, Kerry, and the Clintons are fair game. They have set the standard on extravagant spending for personal items

The difference is that conservatives laugh at the vanity of candidates, like Clinton and Edwards, while liberals foam at the mouth ...

if the spender is a Republican.

Alan Keyes, who is highly respected in some conservative and pro-life circles, had similar issues over the use of campaign finances for personal purposes. Reportedly he paid himself a handsome $100,000/year salary out of his own campaign funds when running for a state office....... and this before resolving the campaign debts and obligations which were still unpaid well into the late 90's. When it became public, it was considered to be highly irregular from the normal use of campaign funds but not criminal.

Regarding Palin's 'shopping spree' it is a distracting non issue designed to discredit her, and cause divisions in people based upon comparisons: Comparing themselves among themselves they become as fools. It causes 'normal' people who have limitations to view her in contrast or as a freak.... which she is not!

A 'walmart' dresser may get by on the street, maybe no problem at work, church, or school, but is not likely to be able to routinely find clothes which look talored, polished and professional. This is the RNC impression of what looks Presidential... and many people do look and make judgements based upon the 'appearance'. Without disclosing the price, many may have no idea what a garment costs, but they do see the person and quickly form an impression regarding 'do they look like the office, role/ winner' which they either own or are aspiring to ...... or do they look so common and careless in appearance that it is hard even see them as a leader with 'presence'.

Visiting my sister in Orlando, I had the opportunity to go 'window shopping' with her to some of the very stores that Gov. Palin shopped at with her entorague: Prices were exhorbant..... but particularly noticable to my 'shopping' experience was the ample room, well displayed, uncrowded look and unique selections of their merchandise. The spaciousness was devoid of crowds.... and this was the Christmas season. The clerks were readily available. If I had wanted, I could have actually made an appointment for most anything I desired, from a personal consultant to a fashion coordinator. The cosmetics sold at such stores are 'top line' and price..... not the dollar stuff I get in a crowded dollar store. Price and packaging are designed to stroke the ego of success. I can understand her needs coming from a colder climate, into cross country campaigning with mixed climates and limitations of her time presented by a busy campaign schedule.

I can go into several fine dress shops in this area..... and spend hours looking through the racks and through several stores just for one outfit with coordinated accessories which present the look of 'success' and polish. Personally, I'm a 'nobody' except before my LORD, (and He gives me undesserved value) so I have few vanities in the area of appearance, so rarely get past 'walmart'. But I do not resent Gov. Palin and the guidance of her advisors. They're up against a deadline.... November 4th election. All that can be done for a McCain win must be completed by then....or else regretted in the hindsight. That is their goal!

Already been done.

Our tax system is already a communist redistribution of wealth so what McCain is doing is trying to scare people with the obvious.

Obvious?..... as in the nose on ones face: It takes a mirror to see, and even then, its an illusion.

If it were so obvious, people would already be flooding their congressmen and senators to stop or repeal some of the laws already passed. They would be aware of the LOSTreaty which gives mineral rights and royalities, and could tax us, and creates the UN as sovereign control of the seas, and laws governing use, and the UN courts for prosecuting actions they determine to be criminal and the right to enforce punishments and penalties ....and telling our senators it is treasonous to vote passage! And the passage of the bailout..... both criminal and unconstitutional and a side step from holding the people responsible.

If the news were really NEWS, and the reporting was investigational and factual and not a continuance of People Magazine...... then, yes, some things might be obvious.

Clarification.....
One doesn't see the nose on their face as others see it, when looking in a mirror.
It takes a picture before one can see what is on the right and what is on the left.... a mirror reflects it in reverse.

McCain is trying to show the picture: Unfortunately he has his own presence in the picture...... and so does Biden, more so than McCain, and both of them overshadow Obama with the presence of time and influence upon the pages of laws passed through the Senate with their supporting ammendments and votes.

McCain may be waking up..... but it may be too little too late. I hope not!

Dead on.

Among serious voters, it is doubtful it will change a single person's vote.

So anyone who finds this fact to mean something is not a "serious" voter?

Do you guys have a book with all these titles?

They are not a serious political thinker. They might seriously vote, but they probably don't take their vote very seriously if they don't bother to look through the charade put forth and see the substance. On this, there is simply no substance to it. It may or may not be true. It certainly has no political relevance.

Jobless people new and old to the rolls will see it and not like it

In no way am I a McCain fan as I find the ticket way too liberal. However, we have a economic disaster unfolding, we are fighting two wars, Social Security and Medicare are about to collapse, immigration is out of control, the health care and retirement issues, and this even makes it to print. Now that is pathetic.
