One would think bread and the cup to be sufficient, if not the marks in His hands and feet. They would be memorials of the Lord Jesus acts accomplished to finish our salvation, not for forgiveness of sins!

So the effort will yield no result that edifies me or glorifies God ... hence my indifference to mysteries that do not matter.
I actually lean "amillenial", but am open to the possibility that Jesus has unfinished OT promises to David.
Partial preterism is acceptable, full blown is heresy! There are, actually, other directions to lean to besides Amillennial and futurism. But at any rate I suggest that you are too quick to label as mysteries some pieces of the puzzle that you just have not given enough thought and time to. Understandably, if you dismiss studies along these lines to be unedifying.
Here is another passage for you to think about. Hopefully this will get you to quit denigrating the precious once-for-all word of Christ:
"18 “Thus says the Lord God: In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a bull from the herd without blemish, and purify the sanctuary. 19 The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorposts of the temple, the four corners of the ledge of the altar, and the posts of the gate of the inner court. 20 You shall do the same on the seventh day of the month for anyone who has sinned through error or ignorance; so you shall make atonement for the temple."
"Sin offering" and "atonement" go way beyond mere memorial. This is no memorial offering. The only memorial offering ni the Bible AFAIK is the Altar Ed in Joshua.
I will engage in fruitful discussions, but do you hold to the heresy of full preterism also? It's fruitless to attempt to engage with @Yeshua1 . He knows what he thinks and is content to make drive-by potshots at opposing views.
Yeshua1: And my exclamation mark PROVES it !!! Period.Partial preterism is acceptable, full blown is heresy!

Full blown Preterism is defined to be outside orthodoxy, and as heresy....Yeshua1: And my exclamation mark PROVES it !!! Period.
The Jews plan to do EXACTLY THAT. Right now, they're breeding red heifers & other animals to be used in temple rites. remember, they believe the Old Covenant is still in effect, with its system of sacrifices, etc. & they reject Jesus as Messiah. He's gonna straighten them out before forever! But not before they build a new temple in Jerusalem & resume the sacrifices. They've already made & consecrated an altar to be used in that temple. (I'm guessing they'll come up with some fire they'll say has been preserved & kept burning for millenia by their people in a hidden place, since they obtained it from the old temple of Solomon, & sent some of it to the 2nd temple that the Romans destroyed.)To announce that the animal sacrafice will be restored and efficacious is to proclaim blasphemy against the atonement of Christ
So, please show us where they've happened, from a reliable history work....most likely due to your miscomprehension of plain time statements such as 'the time is at hand, 'must shortly come to pass', 'I come quickly', 'in just a very little while', 'shall in no wise taste of death', 'this generation shall not pass away', etc., etc., to mean 'thousands of years and still waiting'.
I understand partial to include everything but Jesus' return. However, if that were true, Jesus is 'WAY-OVERDUE, as He said He'd return immediately after the trib.Partial preterism is acceptable, full blown is heresy!
Yes, but at least still hold to a second coming, as full denies that will happen, as already came back in a spiritual sense!I understand partial to include everything but Jesus' return. However, if that were true, Jesus is 'WAY-OVERDUE, as He said He'd return immediately after the trib.
Right. It's all as phony as a Jeep Ram.Yes, but at least still hold to a second coming, as full denies that will happen, as already came back in a spiritual sense!
Sounds like how JW view second coming!Right. It's all as phony as a Jeep Ram.
"Do we romance about three Resurrections? Do we promise the gluttony of the Millennium? Do we declare that the Jewish animal-sacrifices shall be restored? Do we lower men's hopes again to the Jerusalem below, imagining its rebuilding with stones of a more brilliant material? What charge like these can be brought against us, that our company should be reckoned a thing to be avoided?" - Gregory of Nyssa, AD 336-395
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which ARE [not "were"] a shadow of THINGS TO COME; but the body is of Christ.
The church fathers were often church babies.
Can't you see that Paul, who had a 'hotline' to Jesus, was telling the gentile Christians(Colossians were Greex & some were the ancestors of today's Turks) that they did NOT have to start practicing the things God had ordained to the Israelis in Moses' time, in order to be & stay saved, that these things were but forerunners of future events & conditions. And they're still that, today.Oh good grief. Context?
They were solid in some areas of theology, while in others not so much!Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which ARE [not "were"] a shadow of THINGS TO COME; but the body is of Christ.
The church fathers were often church babies.
Hence "often", not "always".They were solid in some areas of theology, while in others not so much!
