Amen! Goodbye, political bondage; hello freedom!

Wow. You sound like the framers of the United States Declaration of Independence. LOL

Quoting the Guardian concerning Johnson's Brexit video -
"He did so because he didn’t dare show his face – not even to go on TV – and take ownership of a Brexit that has been hewn in his own image. Shambolic and a bit clueless. Because deep down Boris has never really been a true believer.

Brexit was an ill-fitting carapace he had worn to get into power. He’d never really thought anyone would believe the lies he’d told. It was a game that had suddenly become all too real. The fun had stopped but he couldn’t. Now he was expected to take responsibility for what he had done, he just wanted to hide. The mask of denial and self-deception had momentarily slipped and the Supreme Showman was too ashamed to be seen.

The handheld hostage video opens with a shot of the No 10 front door, which is as close to reassurance and gravitas as we get. Then we cut to the figure of Boris holed up in a cupboard – hey, at least it wasn’t a fridge this time – looking more of a slob than usual. Hair all over the place, eyes a bit bloodshot and a suit that had been thrown on at the last minute. It may have been possible to make less of an effort for one of the most important speeches of his career, but only if he had been sprawled on a wine-stained sofa."

Johnson's 3 minute speech to end nearly 50 years of cooperation with Europe.

Congratulations to all you Brits out there!
The thought of maintaining your national identity and some sovereignty over your own affairs should be encouraging to you all. Happy Brexodus indeed!

Sour grapes, anyone?

Britain at the December election rejected an honest man concerned for the people of the country in favour of a man with a proven record of lying. It seems that the racism underlying the Brexit cause appealed to people who were deceived into thinking that the 10 years of austerity they were suffering was caused by immigrants from Europe & further afield.

A MSM campaign against Corbyn, falsely accusing him of antisemitism & financial incompetence, was successful.

Now we face the consequences. We are in the position of Habakkuk in a country ruled by the rich incompetents for their own agrandisement & financial benefit.

THe just shall live by faith - in wrath, remember mercy.

I very rarely comment about politics on Christian forums because I'm aware that fine Christians may have widely differing views on political subjects.
So I will say no more except that, while there are ever so many reasons why Britain might deserve the wrath of God, I don't think Brexit is one of them.

Today is Independence day for the UK.

Who better to celebrate it that Vera Lynne, the forces favourite during WW2, and what better than Land of Hope and Glory?
A bit of European with the Dutch introduction.

A great lady, and still with us I believe. 103 years old next month.

Wow.

The best thing you can do for the people of the country is set them free, and let them help themselves.

Holy. Freaking. Cow.

Here is Nigel Farage on his last day in Strasbourg Parliament. Interesting tour of the parliament building. Shows how the EU likes to waste our money.

No politician is honest. Corbyn lied through his teeth. He voted to support the referendum result, then went against it. He voted to implement Article 50, then suceeded in delaying it a number oof time.

He had so many nationalisation and spending plans we soon would have been in a worse financial mess than the last labour government left us in.
He wanted to nationalise the utilities, the railways and our roadband network.
He was going to give every home in the country free fast broadband

You read the wrong newspapers. He always carefully answered media questions, unlike Johnson who chose to hide in a fridge rather than answer questions.

All paid for by a small increase in tax for the very rich who -
pay non-living wages to many of their staff;
have so much money that they could pay taxes & wages & still have more money than they know what to do with it;
all carefully costed.

A small tax on the very rich will not raise much money.
If Corbyn had got in, the pound would have crashed, money would have fled the country, and he would have nothing to spend.
