So, you are one of these Christians who doesn't realize that (with the possible exception of smoking) that they clearly are?So, you are one of these Christians who believes that smoking, pornography, drug use, etc. are all acceptable for Christians because none of them are specifically "verboten" in Scripture?
Yup...pretty clearly addresses those specifically and many more passages besides.1 Galatians 5:9-21
Lol. . Yes....I was shocked he asked that one.Yup...pretty clearly addresses those specifically and many more passages besides.
Matt. 5:28
1 Cor. 6:18
Eph 5:3
Eph 5: 18
Rev. 21: 8
That's odd. I do not see anything specifically about pornography in that passage. What version are you using that has that word in it?1 Galatians 5:9-21
Several people have written books about the demonic character and origins of rock music. Many secular rock musicians have testified that rock music is demonic music. It's regrettable that you apparently are unaware of the literature pertaining to this subject.@Scripture More Accurately
This is an illustration of what you are doing:
"Singing without using musical instruments is demonic because Scripture does not say we can sing without accompaniment."
"Using a paino in church is satanic because the paino is a worldly instrument".
"Wearing a wedding ring is a sin because worldly people wear wedding rings."
You made a claim and seem shocked that people ask you to back up that claim.
Nobody cares what you believe. We want to know why you believe it, where you got your opinions.
As ot stands it appears you are simply making false accusations and unwarranted claims which is sinful (and yes, I can back that up with Scripture, including a commandment).
Sorry, I thought you meant sexually immoral pornography. That's odd. I do not see anything specifically about pornography in that passage. What version are you using that has that word in it?
Several people have written books about Christian rock reaching people with the gospel also.Several people have written books about the demonic character and origins of rock music. As for your illustrations:
No, I do not hold that singing without musical instruments is demonic. There are passages in Scripture where people sang without any mention of musical instruments.
I have never made the claim that using a piano in church is satanic because it is a worldly instrument.
I have never said that wearing a wedding ring is a sin. Scripture provides sufficient basis for holding otherwise.
I have already answered your question. There is plenty of factual information that many have provided that shows the demonic character and origins of rock music. Apparently, it is time for you to do some research.Several people have written books about Christian rock reaching people with the gospel also.
I don't really care what books people write (pro or against music).
I am asking you why you believe that rock music originated among the occult.
No. You made a claim. You provided absolutely no factual information.I have already answered your question. There is plenty of factual information that many have provided that shows the demonic character and origins of rock music. Apparently, it is time for you to do some research.
Really? You do not know of any passages that speak of singing without the mention of musical instruments? For starters, try Numbers 17, Judges 5, and Acts 16.What passages are you speaking of where Scripture states people sang without instruments?
Why is Christians playing a paino NOT glorifying Satan? A paino is a worldly instrument.
Why is wearing a wedding ring NOT a sin? It originated in ancient pagan cultures and our secular culture uses wedding rings.
I see. So, all the secular rock musicians who have testified of the demonic character of their own rock music were all racists? I'm sure that they would disagree very strongly with you. Apparently, however, you view yourself as the final word on this subject so perhaps you should contact them to see if you can help them understand their "faulty" views.No. You made a claim. You provided absolutely no factual information.
I actually did the research. I know how and when rock music originated.
I know that any claim rock and country music is occult. And many believe singing a hymn accompanied by a paino is a sin. But I don't care.
The main issue is WHY people believed that rock music was occult. The reason is racism (the music originated among Black Americans, it naturally grew out of the Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Country and Gospel music).
So yes, there was a time when many considered the music to be occult because it originated with Black Americans in the 1950's. Books were written about how Black people were influencing White culture.
I am just surprised that racism exists today. And I suspect that is why you are so reluctant to give your reason for the opinion.
So how do you know there were no instruments?Really? You do not know of any passages that speak of singing without the mention of musical instruments? For starters, try Numbers 17, Judges 5, and Acts 16.
Who says that a piano is a worldly instrument?
Your claims about the origins of wedding rings rely on information from the writings of other people. You have no ability to establish validly what godly people did or did not do in that respect prior to the Flood.
Really? Paul and Silas sang and played instruments while they were tied to the stocks. Sure thing, whatever you say.So how do you know there were no instruments?
I know the paino is a worldly instrument because I know Bartolomeo Cristofori invented it to compose worldly music. It was to replace the harpsichord.
Sure I do. In ancient the Hebrew religion the groom would give a ring to the bride as a symbol of purchase - a legal contract between the groom and the bride's family.
Wedding rings originated in pagan cultures.
Many were into the occult. Many were Christians. They can only testify to their experiences and how they use music.I see. So, all the secular rock musicians who have testified of the demonic character of their own rock music were all racists? I'm sure that they would disagree very strongly with you. Apparently, however, you view yourself as the final word on this subject so perhaps you should contact them to see if you can help them understand their "faulty" views.
Sure. A chain can be an instrument.Really? Paul and Silas sang and played instruments while they were tied to the stocks. Sure thing, whatever you say.
I have not researched the origins of the piano, so I cannot knowledgeably interact with that information.
Um, there were no Hebrews prior to the Flood. Try again.
You fancy yourself to be an expert on this subject, but secular rock musicians who really are experts, have done the research, and have written books that have been published disagree with you. Many were into the occult. Many were Christians. They can only testify to their experiences and how they use music.
Many folk musicians who wrote the type of music that accompany hymns were occultists. Many were not.
I like poetry. Many poets were into mysticism. Many were not. Who cares?
The issue is that I know how rock, gospel (traditional Black gospel music), and the blues became associated with the occult.
Does that make you a racist? I don't know. It is a racist view designed by racist people to guard White culture. You may not have realized that. I doubt that the case but give you the benefit of that doubt (most of the time when oeople repeat racist claims it is because some level of racism exists).
Rock originated by the blending of rhythm and blues, the blues, and country.
This is among the first, if not the first, rock and roll song recorded.
