1 John 3.13.
But I didn't see any hatred in the trailer, just a mockery of our views. I'm not sure the Christian west knows what hatred means.
I have to agree. This is a mockery of the pretrib, premil view, which may or may not be true. I remember in the past watching the "Oh God" movie with George Burns, and "Bruce Almighty." Although not my idea of a good movie, I did laugh in the last movie when Bruce parted the bowl of tomato soup like the Red Sea.
What I do think is more towards a hatred of Christianity is when the art exhibit in California showed a symbol of the cross with Christ on it in a jar of urine was displayed for all the world to see. Some will disagree, but I see a distinct difference between the movies like those above and this exhibit. I think those who go through our legal systems to prevent prayer in schools and Christmas displays in town squares hate Christianity much more than those who produce these movies.
I do agree that people in general are ever so slowly becoming less and less tolerant of Christianity. I also agree that we in the West, (Western Hemisphere) do not know what hatred really is, as we have not experienced real oppression like those in countries of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. We experience thinks like the examples above. They did not hurt one hair on anyone's head. The solution to being mocked as a Christian in the West is to turn the off switch or ignore it. When we start losing jobs, going to prison, being executed or watching our families being executed for our faith in Christ, then we will know hatred has arrived.
