Bad advice.

Plantar fascitis is often caused by a structural issue with the foot - often, overly high arches. A good podiatrist can diagnose that issue and provide custom orthopedics that resolve that problem and several others that eventually develop, like shin splints and knee issues. I dealt with these issues all the way from my 20s to mid-40s and was told to do things like roll a can over the arch. That helps relieve the pain, but it doesn't solve the problem.

Go to a doctor!

You are right about the cause. You are wrong on dismissing the treatment I gave. I work quickly for me and I had no pain within a week. I have given this advice to friends and it worked for them. If the problem is not gone the pain would not be gone IMHO. There are numerous roller products that can be bought. Check Amazon. But there is no need to spend money when you have various sized cans that can be used in your pantry.

Follow the Way is also right. I forgot about rolling a tennis ball. That also works well.

Are you an M.D.?

If so, then feel free to prescribe medical treatment. If not, don't discourage anyone from seeking professional evaluation and treatment.

I suffered from this for years by messing around with these home remedies until I finally tore the ligament, and that's not the way you want to do things.

When I finally had a professional treat me, a host of knee, leg and foot issues disappeared for good.

There are too many people here dispensing medical advice. There was another poster a while back who tried to tell me that a life-threatening disease I had could be treated by physical therapy. I ignored his criticisms and had the life-saving surgery anyway, while that poster is still offended that I ignored his terrible medical advice.
