Starting posts complaining about everyone else's posts only adds to the problem. And the folks who are doing all the complaining are some of the biggest offenders. If you think the post is inappropriate report it and let the mods do their job. All this thread has done is further expand the immaturity.

Excellent post. Both Calvinist and Arminian apologists on this board are dripping with arrogance and self righteousness and have totally lost their Scriptural bearings.

Is a word in modern parlance used merely to distort truth-claims...if anyone vociferously defends a truth-claim with unreserved fervor...they will be accused of "Hate".

The word "hate" has lost it's meaning. I honestly no longer know what you mean when you use the word.

Honestly...all I can see is a few people attempting to place themselves upon a pedestal of self-righteous indignation.
I do not see how this OP or it's defenders are, in any way, purveyors of greater or more Divine wisdom than that which is posed by others....

You are taking a solid courageous stand against "hatred"...join the club...
Democrats also jumped onto the Civil-Rights Bandwagon after Republicans had been fighting for 100 years for it...

I know Brother Jeff personally, haved talked with him on the phone, and also heard him preach(and did a good job, btw). Let me tell you, there's not a more humble, God-honoring, God-fearing, God-exhalting CHRISTian that I know of than him. He was addressing the rampant problem that has been spreading like wildfire on here, and there's been none of the "higher-ups", who have "stepped up" to squash it.

No I HATE certain people.....they are total scum of the earth & who do not have the presence of mind to do anything but hurt people, animals etc. Those are the Psychotics, the Sociopaths, the pedophiles, the animal abusers etc.

Did ya like Joe Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Mao? Do you like Banksters, Neo Nazi Skinheads, Perverts & Pedophiles who abuse children (& on a repeated basic), how bout rapists? Do you like them? My wife works to jail people who run cons to get money for animals while all the while they starve, neglect & murder innocent dumb animals.....ya like those folks?

I never meant to imply that there was no one I hated. But certainly as professing Christians on this board, I trust that we can actually love one another while still disagreeing, sometimes firmly, on certain issues.

Because that is my honest perception of their motives to be honest with you... I answer you because I perceive you to have the best and most Christ-like and honest of motives...Know what? honestly, one of the main reasons is because I simply LOATHE the way he treated your sister on the threads about "Church Discipline"...His views on that reeked IMO of sheer self-righteousness and judgmentalism...that's why. This is (of course my own opinion).

My response was scathing perhaps, and might have been worded differently, but truth be told, I stand by the general thrust of it.

I might have suggested that no man who takes himself seriously takes "stands" against "hatred"...How is that a "STAND"....does it take moral courage to take a "STAND" against "HATE"...sure, it's as morally courageous as taking a "STAND" against racism or child-molestation. If quoting scripture is taking the moral hardline then yes I take that stand.

If one is SO very "humble" as you say, than something as (perhaps scathing or harsh) will roll off one's back...but no such luck with your friend here:

Really, I had 3 known gang members target my family and do a drive by in an attempt on my the pregnant wife's life and my then 6 year old because I was a State Trooper. Because I think one of the most EFFECTIVE evangelistic methods in HISTORY has been polemical apologetics- and it HURTS and HUMILIATES and INFURIATES- but it works. And it is THE method that Paul and Stephen and Jesus, etc... used most often.

I think the DEVIL, in this post-hippy era, in this Joel Osteen age, is STEALING from us the most effective method of evangelism the church has ever used.
