Yes, we have received the Spirit of adoption that allows us to call God Abba. We have not received the adoption.

Rom. 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The contrast between the first part of the verse and the second part of the verse is not that we haven't received bondage but we have received adoption.

The contrast is that we haven't received the spirit of bondage . . . we have received the Spirit of adoption . . .

You can live life unadopted by God and all alone with no family, if that is your wish.
I will accept the whole of God's word and know that my adoption was secured before the foundation of the world and in the future my incorruptable body will be given to me when I return home from my task as an ambassador.

It is clear you will not believe God has already adopted you. This is my last comment on this thread. You are free to deny your position.

    Just a question or two?

for in hope we were saved, and hope beheld is not hope; for what any one doth behold, why also doth he hope for it? and if what we do not behold we hope for, through continuance we expect it.

Exactly what is the, "hope," being spoken of there of which you have not yet seen, otherwise it would not be hope and neither would you be patiently awaiting? Exactly why are those who have the first fruit of the Spirit, groaning, within themselves?

    What are they groaning, for?
