What do you believe about the adoption of believers? Have we already been adopted as children of God?

Galatians 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. . . .

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

John 1:12

But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God

Think ther confusion is due to not understanding that we are right now as saved adopted as Children of God, but as Paul states, it does not yet appear as to what we shall be at in the resurrection state!

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

If you are born again, you are adopted!... Brother Glen:)

Are you saying that people are saved by being adopted? If so, where does the Bible teach that we are saved by being adopted?

<I underlined Spirit>
We are already children of God in order to receive the adoption.
1 John 3:2, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."

Yes, we have been predestinated to the adoption of children, but that does not show that it has already taken place.

1Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

And not only so, but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting -- the redemption of our body; for in hope we were saved, and hope beheld is not hope; for what any one doth behold, why also doth he hope for it?

but those accounted worthy to obtain that age, and the rising again that is out of the dead, neither marry, nor are they given in marriage; for neither are they able to die any more -- for they are like messengers -- and they are sons of God, being sons of the rising again. Luke 20:35,36

No, am saying that when we get saved, when we are given the indwelling holy Spirit, God the Father seals us then as being one of His children. part of the adopted in the Body of Christ!

No. They are first justified (declared to be righteous) and then adopted.
The two things are, I think, effectively simultaneous, but we cannot be adopted until we are justified.
Yes, but we are adopted before we are resurrected and glorified, as some here seem to hold!

Rom 8:23 And not only so, but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, (adoption expecting) -- the redemption of our body;

Eph 1:13,14 in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth -- the good news of your salvation -- in whom also having believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of [the promise], which is an (earnest of our inheritance), to the redemption of the acquired possession, to the praise of His glory.

Do those verses say the same thing? Is adoption expecting the same as earnest of our inheritance? The Spirit of Truth saying at the redemption of the body we will be revealed as sons of God? . See Rom 8:19 for the earnest looking out of the creation doth expect the revelation of the sons of God; See Luke 20:36 for neither are they able to die any more -- for they are like messengers -- and they are sons of God, being sons of the rising again.

Now let's address the Holy Spirit, Which is given as earnest, of the promise. The promise of what?

and now for the hope of the promise made to the fathers by God, I have stood judged, to which our twelve tribes, intently night and day serving, do hope to come, concerning which hope I am accused, king Agrippa, by the Jews; why is it judged incredible with you, if God doth raise the dead? Acts 26:6-8

The redemption of the body, Adoption expecting Our Hope? Romans 8:24,25 for in hope we were saved, and hope beheld is not hope; for what any one doth behold, why also doth he hope for, and if what we do not behold we hope for, through continuance we expect - the redemption of the body

And BTW Before Adam sinned, God subjected this > And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Gen 1:26 < to vanity (Vanity of vanities, all is vanity says the preacher) In expectation of the above, HOPE.
