We could always fight about this. :D
Who does that guy think he is? I've never heard of him before that video, and I don't really care to hear of him again. Again, who does he think he is?

Pastor of a very large church in Indiana?

And President of a IFB college in the same state?

Interesting wasn't it? Definately fodder for a new thread.

Some people thrive on folks telling them that "doing" something or "wearing" something = "right with God" or "spiritual"

I feel only great pity and sorrow for such folks.

I will do ALL "to the glory of God" and in faith (for without faith - not man-made rules - it is impossible to please God)

Are we about done with 10 pages here?

LOL - 10 pages. I was looking to see if anyone knew of a good lightweight coat that my hubby could wear to lead worship in. Who'da thunk?? Atleast I got the idea of a vest from Joshua. :)

and there you have it folks...your commitment to God is questioned because you dare to wear something other than what KJVkid deems righteous. by the student preacher rbell

I will try to go s-l-o-w for you more mature folks, 1Pe 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,

a few points of correction:
1. Condescension is not a spiritual gift. Try another one.
2. A mature discussion was taking place, and then you decided to question the spirituality of others based upon their dress. This is problematic for several reasons:
a. You seem to think that the Holy Spirit needs help in dealing with believers regarding their dress when leading worshsip. Why not let God do what He does quite well?
b. Autonomy of the local church. This is a local church issue. I'll make you a deal: you don't begrudge the church I attend for how this Biblically unaddressed issue is handled, and I'll grant you the same. Heck...I'll not castigate your family of faith even if you go after mine. Deal?
c. Your Scriptural citations don't deal with ministerial attire. Nice try, though.
3. Later on, you said,

I bet you do! I meant NOTHING about "my platform, more then I am the pastor. I have a church board and trustees and everything you might aprove of but I AM THE PASTOR. What I say goes on "the" platform!! I expect the people to RESPECT me as God's man....Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you.
I bet this doesn't sit well with some of the liberal preachers that have absolutely no authority in their, excuse me I mean "the" church.
Forgive me for stepping all in it here, but it sure does seem important to you that you re-iterate the scope of your pastoral authority. The insinuation that we have "liberal" preachers on here that don't exert enough authority wasn't lost on me...but it makes you sound very insecure. I'm sure you're a better guy than that...but that's how it sounded.
