Taken by itself it isn't a liberal interpretation. But in a thread like this he is implying that this verse applies to Obamacare and people who feel that, even with its flaws, it is a good thing are denying Christ. Now that is a liberal interpretation.

Christ did not teach independence from the state. Almost all of Christ's teachings dealt with how we are to treat each other.

Christ "teaching" was believe on him or go to hell. Not even you can change this.

You're denying this ? You ain't saved if you are.

This board is in error letting you on it.

Your exact words were:

The central teaching of Christ is not how to treat each other, and it's not surrender to the state.

Indeed the only way to God is through Christ ... but that does not mean we are to ignore all his teachings and examples of how we are to teach each other. Tell me, Bro, at the last judgement as recorded in Matthew, what do the questions ask concern? Indeed, they are about how we treat each other.

Please support your claim support your claim that Jesus did not teach about how we are to treat each other. Please support that claim with scripture.

He did not imply that at all. If you are going to engage people you need to be honest.

Christ did not teach dependence on the state. In fact the state was not even in view in anything Christ said. To apply his teachings to government control is to take His words out of context, misapply them, and do violence to scripture.

I agree, Christ did not speak about the state other then to render unto Caesar ..................

The question is constitutionality or not. I doubt that the SC justices will consult the Bible before making their decisions.

But to say that Christ's teachings did not concern how we treat each other is simply wrong.

You accuse us of ignoring them in ignorance. You have no idea what people do.

You better hope they aren't about how we treat each other. You've done more name calling and out and out lying on this board than anyone else.

Again with the blatant dishonesty. I didn't say anything like that. If you want to talk, be honest. Isn't that what Jesus wants ? How can you harp on the proper treatment of each other, yet be so obviously dishonest ? You got problems.

Try again, without the lies.

NO one has said that either. What he did say is that the primary teaching was that Christ is the only way. The way folks like your present the gospel is that the government to should control our lives so no one gets left out.

Quite frankly the lack of imagination and innovative thinking of the left leaves them with no options other than to depend on government. Such thinking is contrary to the founding of this country.

The primary spiritual teaching was that Christ was the only way.

The primary day-to-day living of a good life was how we are to treat each other. And the scene of the last judgement is very definitely on how we lived and treated each other.

All smoke and mirrors, ducking and dodging, accusing and name calling with you isn't it ... but never honest answers or honest debate.

Then you should be more honest.

My rejection of your democrat party is not cause for you to accuse people of not treating each other in the manner that Christ wants. It's quite frankly, ridiculously simplistic thinking.

The purpose in how we treat each other is so that God would be glorified. That discounts the government as an option.

Also, I couldn't help but notice you took that "prove by scripture that's what he said" nonsense down. Almost let the cat out of the bag on that one, eh, C.T.Boy ?

Your feeling is that it violates legal principle. What legal principle are you speaking of?

The legal principle in the ACA that says states are currently in violation of the ACA.

I will feel it is law, but a bad law as I believe the General Welfare Clause of the Constitution will be violated if they vote against it.
How so?

Now, that is now what this thread is about. The OP subject is how people in a majority of states, primarily Republican controlled states will be harmed if Obamacare is truck down.

I will not be satisfied just as I am not satisfied with the Americans United decision. Their decision became law, but I feel it is a very bad law.

Then why are you so upset that people who have an opposite opinion from yours are supporting the SC uphold the ACA as its written?

You supported the ACA; you were okay with "we have to pass it to see what's in it"; and now that you're seeing it, you don't like it?

If you pick and choose Paul's writings to fit your own wishes and ignore the teachings of Jesus, then yes they are different. If you balance Paul with what Jesus taught there is no conflict.

What a bunch of theological nonsense on stilts. You are so religious left that you make the teachings of Julius Wellhausen seem orthodox. How 19th century!

This is weird. When this thread first started, it was 10 million people will be affected if the SC votes a certain way.

When I posted a response to CTB the other day, the number was reported in news sources as 8 million.

Reading about it today, it's now 7.5 million.

???

Different numbers are given in different articles. Regardless, whether the high or low numbers it is a lot of people.

Considering that many of those forced into these Obamacare policies can't get medical care anyway because they can't afford the deductibles...

I would think that a lot newly insured in those States will be happy to see the subsidies go if it means the end of Obamacare.

Then they could go back to having health care instead of supposed health insurance.

Health insurance does not equal health care.
