You have to be careful about posible bleeding. I've had these things since I was a kid,and I've twisted them off, cut them off, once shaved one off(by accident), and sometimes they bleed a lot, you are open for infection. This is a surgical procedure no matter how simple it seems to be.
Mostly I just leave them alone. I have 2 or 3 under each arm, one on my upper stomach, and several small ones on my neck.

Mine have never bled that much, I put a piece of cotton on it and a bandaid and leave it for a few mins and it is done.

I have a friend in town who is a doctor and he said there is little chance for problems, and that in reality it makes more sense for me to take care of it than to pay money for someone else to do the exact same thing.

PSBC...I may just do that. I'll have to ice it down good. I can feel in many of mine...strange! I've got to watch how much I bleed, though. I usually bleed like a stuck pig, and I just had 6 units of blood transfused into me in early October.

AVL well if you do bled alot, then be careful. It might be best for you to go to the doctor for it. As I said, none of mine have bled alot and really do not even hurt when cut. But thats just me, do what is best for you.

I went in to see the doctor for something else and asked about the hangin mole. He burned it off and didn't charge me anything. It hurt, but there was no bleeding and healed right up.

If I cut it off and bind that area tightly with a bandage and gauze, it should be okay. I'll just have to wait until my bloods built back up to where it's supposed to be. I'm still a couple of quarts low! LOL

Now, I know for my nausea that accompanies the vertigo caused by Meniere's Disease, I drink ginger ale and ginger tea, and sometimes nibble ginger snaps. All have to have real ginger or it won't work. I know of many others, but I've got to get the tubs and toilets cleaned before Viv gets home!

    About skin tags~
Seems like I heard that you can also use tread and tie it around the skin tag. It cuts the blood flow off then it falls off several days. This would seem the safest way to me.

I've only had one tiny hanging mole type tag and I twisted it just by rolling my finger over it several times a day and it fell off with no bleeding.

My grandfather put castor oil on some seed warts I had on my hand as a child. He'd rub it in good and then put a penny over it. The core fell out and the outter skin peeled off.

I've had a couple of tiny sore spots on my scalp like an infected hair. You really can't 'see' anything other than an enlarge hair follicle. Any thoughts on those?

Okay, another annoying question about rinsing with peroxide. How long did it take before you noticed whitening results in your teeth? Days? Weeks? I got brave tonight and gave it a try. It went in with a lot of anxiety and it turned out to not be as horrible as I expected. I diluted it to 1.5% and tasted nothing. Thanks!

Diane, my grandfather used to do that same thing.

Now, about the hair, Vivian usually just plucks hers and mine out. It clears up, and you won't miss the hair, unles of course, you're going bald. Also, I was told by a barber you could use Listerine several times a week and it would take care of them. I've tried it (or any ANTISEPTIC mouthwash) and it worked pretty well. I just like the quicker pulling of the hair better.

Don't remember how long before whiteness sets in. I do know that if you rinse with full strength HP it will make a big improvement. Gradually work up to full strength and retain it as long as possible, your cheeks will puff out with white foam. By letting the foam ooze out you'll appear to have rabies. [IMG]

To clean your tooth brush soak overnight in HP.

    Thank you!

I thought of a home remedy. Tea tree oil works as a scalp treatment for dandruff. It doesn't cure it but it helps to control it. You can buy tea tree oil shampoos but I think it works better if you buy the oil and add 7 or 8 drops to your shampoo or conditioner, whichever you use last. Rub it through your hair with your shampoo or conditioner and allow it to set for 7 or 8 minutes then rinse thoroughly. Use it every time you shampoo. It does stink but the smell almost completely disappears by the time your hair is dry.

Tea tree oil also helps to repel lice so it's good if you have you children. Lice HATE the smell, and the oil makes it almost impossible for the nits to stick to the hair.

Best facial cleanser I've ever used:

50-50 mixture of olive oil and castor oil. If your skin's dry, up the olive oil and if it's oily, up the castor oil. I add a tiny bit of grapeseed oil as well. Massage it right onto your skin (I use about a teaspoon or two each time) then lie down with a hot washcloth over your face. When the cloth is cool, repeat once or twice if you like, then wipe the oil off with the washcloth (might have to go over it a few times.)

I do this every night, then use a drop of the oil mixture for moisturizer. My skin is super-soft and I get far fewer pimples.

When I was 9 or 10 years old, I had some freckles on the face (not a lot) but it bothered me to hear my mom refer to me as a freckle-faced boy. My great grandma (who would be 124 if she were still alive) said that washing the face with a dew-soaked wool cloth would get rid of freckles. I tried it for a while then got tired of it and quit, but today there are no signs of freckles on my face - just age spots. However, there are still freckles on my shoulders and back.

I wonder if that dew-soaked wool cloth will work on age spots. If it takes another 40 years to work, I wonder if it will be worth the effort.
