Despite a still-lagging U.S. economy and rising unemployment rate, House Democrats announced late yesterday that they will seek a massive increase in federal income taxes to help pay for the national health-care reform proposal that President Obama is urging Congress to enact this summer.

Well, we can rest assured, because of the zero's campaign promise, that he will veto this.

Indeed. Nothing for us to be concerned about here. Obama's been so good about keeping his campaign promises, such as having a more transparent administration, that I'm sure he'll have no problem vetoing it.

Once again, folks campaigning against their own self interests.

Maybe you guys are making over $350,000/yr., but I am not. Why would this get vetoed if passed? Obama said he would raise taxes on those in these high income levels to pay for health care. This is EXACTLY what we voted for.

From HERE

The agreement among House Democratic leaders, which is set to be unveiled Monday, calls for households earning more than $350,000 a year to pay an extra 1% tax. Even higher rates would be imposed at $500,000 and $1 million.

Actually, it was $250K a year. Or $225K a year, depending on if it was the zero or his idiot VP that was talking.

And yes, we know you voted to punish the successful. But we thinkers know the result of this will be raised taxes on EVERYBODY.

This sounds like a good idea to me. This small addition to people this well off won't hurt their lives very much at all.

More false claims by libbies. This will raise unemployment slow the economy and in some cases send business over seas.

Well, we will pass on what we can to folks like you, in the way of higher prices & less quality service. And lay-offs, can't forget lay-offs. But don't take my word for it. Just look at the Carter years.

The Democrats will propose it and the Republicans will go along with it because they're just as bad.

Just the tip of the iceberg. Multiply any government cost projections by at least 3 to come even remotely close to the real cost.

The House has already passed a huge climate tax. That's the tip of another iceberg, but a huge tax, nevertheless.

Where does it end? National bankruptcy. The taxes will keep coming and the spending won't stop until the public wakes up and decides it really isn't racist to resist bankruptcy.

Sure, you're right. Every business owner that gets socked will lay off two folks, and be back where they started.

Why can't folks see that soaking the rich eventually catches up with you?

Heck, why not tax all "rich folks" at 90%? Then we'll ALL be rich!

Those evil rich people should pay for everyone's health care. Actually, I believe it is called income redistribution.
