House GOP in Turmoil

Earlier this month, the Louisiana Baptist Message noted that "Southern Baptists fight for control of U.S. House":

"Eight Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives together with 208 Democrats voted, Oct. 3, to oust Kevin McCarthy, a member of Valley Baptist Church in Bakersfield, California, as speaker."

"Matt Gaetz, a member of First Baptist Church, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, initiated the removal process, filing a motion, Oct. 2, to vacate the office of speaker, which precipitated the vote of no confidence that removed McCarthy from this key leadership role."

Regardless of how rulers get in positions of power - elected, appointed, force, etc. - rulers rule.

Flowery language about being "servants of the people, blah, blah, blah" is just that - flowery language. Government is carnal politics and power; it is not the church.

True, true, true and that is because unless God has called a ruler for his purpose at this present time they ALL fall under the following;

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. no great thing, then, if also his ministrants [the world rulers of the darkness of this age Eph 6:12] do transform themselves as ministrants of righteousness -- whose end shall be according to their works.

Illinois Baptists' Newsjournal trumpeting that the new Speaker is Southern Baptist and was an ERLC trustee:
…...[He] is the second consecutive Southern Baptist to helm the House. Kevin McCarthy of Bakersfield, California was also a member of a Southern Baptist church".

It all makes sense now. Eight people got together and were relentless until they got the pastor fired…. Oops, I mean the Speaker fired.
