House GOP in Turmoil

Doesn't matter. The 8 RINOs voted with the entire DNC House to take apart the Republicans.

Saying the other Republicans did the same thing dies not make the 8 RINOs heros. It makes them no better.

I'm not, BTW, saying the 8 RINOs are worse than the GOP. I'm merely saying that they have defected to the DNC....at least for a time. They are RINOs.
The 8 "RINOS" are the true conservatives.

I agree.

The problem is not their position but what they were willing to sacrifice for their positions.

I am getting tired of politicians using American citizens as pawns.

I had hoped that those 8 RINOs (well, a few of them) would change the GOP - not side with the Democrats to void the Republican majority.

Now the very little that had been accomplished has been undine, and we will end up worse than where we began.

So yes, I agree that they are the most conservative and I like their views. But I still believe those RINOs were grandstanding, trying to make a reputation for themselves - given the timing. It backfired (I don't think they thought it'd be political suicide).

But mostly, whether right or wrong principles, I abhor any politician using citizens as pawns.

That said, I also realize many of those unaffected do not care. It doesn't affect me, but I can't stand the principle.

But ...that's politics. :Wink

The repubs wouldn’t dare retaliate against the hero eight because they understand the BASE will vote them out of office.

I am really starting to doubt that the MAGA wing and the traditional conservative wing can continue to coexist in the Republican Party. I would not be surprised to see one or the other of the wings leave the party. The MAGA wing might start its own political party or maybe join the Constitution Party. Or the traditional conservative wing might join the No Labels movement and make it into a full-fledged political party that runs candidates up and down the ballot.

As the old song written by Mark Knopler and recorded by Dire Straits and also by John Anderson starts - "If we can't get along, we oughta be apart."

I agree. But the MAGA wing is relatively small, so I'm not sure if it can become anything but a fringe movement within the GOP and survive.

Remember the "Tea Party" lol.

…..

The 8 RINOs did, with their timing, damage to the American people.

And that is simply wrong. They put their own self-interest above the nation.
Please explain how the American people have been “damaged” by the eight?

peace to you

I agree with them. The Republican party has become so worthless, it has to be burned down and rebuilt into what it is supposed to be. The majority of Republicans are all too happy playing the Uniparty game.

If it was to be "rebuilt", would it have the same people in it? If so, then the result will be the same.

Oh yes, they are heroes. They are the first to say, “No More!!!!” They have courage in their convictions. They are standing firm in their promises to their constituents.

They are not harming anyone. They are helping every American. The ones harming the American people are both repubs and Dems that continue massive spending They are holding the American people hostage by threatening to implode the economy with reckless spending policies.

The repubs have voted just like the Dems for decades. The result is 33 TRILLION debt!!!!!

No More!!!!

The Eight are HEROES!!!!!!

peace to you

Yep hero's for sure

I agree as well. I've said for years that the GOP and DNC are two dudes of the same coin.

My only complaint is how they did it. They lost the high ground when they used American citizens as pawns.

They should have done this 7 months ago.

The whole nation’s heroes, whether folks understand it or not. They are attempting to force the institutional change needed to save the country… which everybody knows needs to happen but just keep kicking the can down the road for someone else to deal with

peace to you

For one, any future work of Congress depends on giving even more to the DNC in order to get the government operational again.

But I was thinking more of those Americans who work not for the government but for contractors (a large percentage of Americans). They are not paid as well as most federal workers, and they will not be paid when the government shuts down (no back pay).

The military servicemen will have to serve without being paid

The VA is funded a year out, but several VA programs will stop.

And while Congress can't pass stupid laws, they also can't work what little good they do.

Oh my goodness!!!! It appears the repubs have elected a new speaker!!!

Just in time too. There was absolutely horrible damage being done to the American people because of what the “eight RINO’s” did!

Although such damage was never really identified, I’m sure hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of babies, old people, disabled folks, veterans as well as cats and dogs were damaged.

Not to mention the damage to the environment, unemployment rates skyrocketed, millions of small businesses have shut down, crime is running rampant and so on…

..all because these “eight RINO’s” took a stand not to betray their constituents.

Now, the only thing left to do is dish out the appropriate punishment toward these “eight RINO’s”. I wonder how many years in prison will satisfy the elites?? Or perhaps they will demand the death penalty.

peace to you

it was only a minority of republicans that voted against Jim Jordan. They were the rino”s. Rinos are establishment liberals who claim to be moderates (no such thing).

No. RINOs are Republicans in Name Only.

8 Republicans joining 212 Democrats against 213 Republicans is an example of RINOs.

(Actually, there isn't such a thing as a "RINO" because the GOP, like the DNC, is a broad range. But it's fun to pick at).

Ad a disabled vet who recieves a monthly check from the va and i get my healthcare thru the va I want them yo do the right thing not get pushed into a decision that hurts the country long term. Using these things to manipulate people into funding the ukraine debacle is not ok. McCarthy broke his word and the response was necessary

I honestly think you would have complained 7 months ago had they done it then.
There is no convenient time. I say the Dems are causing long term pain on the People. The people may have to endure short term pain to avoid long term agony.
