Wife and I vacationed in Portland and Oregon Coast. Fearful to drive downtown Portland with crazies (giving them the benefit of the doubt) running, pounding on cars at stoplights, tents and **** on every sidewalk. Why anyone would think this is "good" or even "normal" is beyond me.

That said, the coast was so lovely; I do that again!!

Hmm, I’m wondering much the same about Manhattan and all the freeloaders who have been imposed on the City. I worked there for over 20 years and I liked all the interaction I had with a variety of people from everywhere in the world. I always took my wife and son to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Fond past memories but I would not do it today.

It turns out, EWF, your question was spot on. The people at the top, or near the top of an organization sometimes need to grasp the actual operations performed by the organization. But there are examples, where the top person was able to pick a support team that had the actual "know how" to implement the guiding principles coming from the top.

I would be part of that "some would say", except, I've thought it was obvious already.

I still suspect that Harris received an "extra" 10 million or so in her count this time around, but that they couldn't stuff enough this time because of being so closely watched.

1) She was a poor candidate

2) The majority of voters are garbage

3) High inflation and an open border

What if none of that came close to the mark?

When searching for a root cause, one necessary question is why now and not before or later?

Why did Mr. Trump win in 2016, lose n 2020 and win again in 2024?

Was Mr. Trump less given to hyperbole in 2016 and 2024? Nope

Did the media treat Mr. Trump positively in 2016 and 2024? Nope

What changed? Did the Trump organization operate a full scale effort to avoid the "steal" in 2024? Yes in deed.

The percentage of possible turnout was about 58.5% in 2016 and 2024, but in 2020 it was about 65%

Obviously the "higher turnout" favored the Democrats.

Where was the 2020 vote shifted most significantly, Georgia, Arizona, and Michigan.

Where did the vote shift back to Trump most significantly to align with 2016?

The real reason was that "the steal" could not happen without all the COVID absentee ballots.

Yes, about 100,000 less votes for Harris in 24, than for Biden in 20. while Mr Trump got about 150,000 more votes in 24 than in 20 in Michigan. However, your guess does not explain the shift to Mr. Trump and away from the Dem in states where the Muslim vote is insignificant.

Take Arizona where Mr. Trump lost by .3% in 20, but won by 5.5% in 24. Or Georgia where Mr. Trump lost by .2% in 20, but won by 2.2% in 24.

Nationwide, Mrs Harris got about 6 million votes less than Biden in 20, but Mr. Trump got about 2 million more than he did in 20. Even if you assume those 2 million gained votes all came from Dems, that still leaves about 4 million votes that disappeared. Election integrity is important.
